Titlen "The New Mecca of Graffiti", som den engelske Guardian tilskrev Athen, er intet andet end tilfældigt. Athen har nu et prominent sted blandt de mest berømte for deres gadekunstbyer. Nyd en 4-timers privat gåtur omkring Athen og lær at kende, beundre og fotografere dens Street Art-scene, da den er blevet formet gennem værkerne fra berømte gadekunstnere som WD, iNO og Moralez. Gennemse nogle af Athens mest kendte distrikter som Psyrri og Exarchia og opdag deres unikke karakter gennem vægmalerier, stencils og graffities, der dekorerer dem.

Efter mødet med et medlem af Be a Greek team uden for Panepistimio Metro Station, vil du nyde en 4 timers lang vandretur i de mest alternative og autentiske kvarterer i Athen, hvor du vil have mulighed for at blive bekendt med den athenske Street Art scene.
Vi begynder fra Exarchia, et velkendt kvarter for dets kunstneriske og studerende aura. Eksklusive gade-kunstnere som WD, STMTS, Sonke og iNO har givet det urbane landskab et specielt præg, der fremhæver dette kvarter og gør det berømt overalt i verden. I Exarchia får vi også muligheden for at slappe af, mens vi nyder vores kaffe i en lokal café, dekoreret med unik anamorfisk graffiti.
Fortsætter vi os med at finde os i Psyrri, opdage både dens turistiske og alternative karakter, mens vi beundrer nogle af de mest berømte og smukkeste kunstværker såsom den berømte hund Loukanikos (pølse på græsk), som vidner om den socio-politiske situation vores land. I denne del af vandreturen får vi muligheden for at tale blandt andet om den fantastiske kunstner Achilles og lære nogle af hans unikke værker at kende.
Når vi forlader Psyrri, vil vi gå forbi Kerameikos fodgængerområdet og beundre kontrasten mellem de gamle udstillinger i Kerameikos og de moderne kunstværker i området. Efter et par minutter når vi et af højdepunkterne i vores Tour, de enorme DaVinci-vægmalerier skabt af hænderne på iNO, uden tvivl et udsøgt eksempel på den athenske Street Art. Ankommer man til Kerameikos metrostation, afsluttes vores tur, når vi har haft en dag fuld af billeder og en fantastisk oplevelse.

Details , insight, depth, for those seeking to truly Be a Greek. I am Greek and I learned more about my city historically and in present times than I could have known if I had read one hundred books. Within the “art walk” she gives you the meat of what it means to be an Athenian, both in past history and recent history. Bianca gave an amazing tour of Athens and its vibrant street art. We saw some very interesting and evocative art produced by a collection of passionate artists. The tour was enhanced by Bianca’s knowledge of how local social and political issues drove much of the art. She was also friendly, upbeat and spoke fluent English.

It felt like we got a behind the scene tour of Athens! Without this tour we feel that we would have left Athens not truly understating the full and true landscape and culture of Athens. It would be near impossible to truly understand and appreciate the amazing street art of Athens without the spectacular storytelling from Bianca. This tour was the icing on the cake of our trip to Athens. It’s a must do!
Bianca from "Be a Greek" is truly the best guide you can imagine for the graffitti / street art tour. She is really passionate about the subject and can teach you all about the artists and artworks. In addition, she was very good at telling about the recent history of Athens and relating events related to the districts of Exarchia and Psyrri. The tour is 150% recommended and I would book another tour with Bianca at any time.
I was looking to see some special after visiting the classic Athenian sites. This walking tour was outstanding. As a photographer, I knew this tour would give me great opportunities but it was much more than that. Bianca was my guide and was exceptionally well versed in this subject. She had a deep understanding of who the artists are and what the artists are trying to convey. Bianca made this tour very special for me. If you want to see another side of Athens, I would encourage you to take this tour.

My husband and I had a most interesting day walking and talking w/ our guide Antonis. We saw fabulous examples of the artists making mostly social commentary on what is happening in Greece today. We had discussions of what life is like in Greece and what are the social issues facing the Greeks. We enjoyed learning about the current day society and how history is still influencing it. If you want to know about Greece today go to where the people live and express themselves. A very well spent day!
