Great experience! Was a lot of fun! Saw lots of birds and a sloth.
Booking for a 1 hour tour with an English guide. No guide ever speaks English on site. Just a captain who speaks Spanish. 1 hour discussion for nothing. We go around in Spanish ..... without explanation
I was surprised to see your review. During your visit, you specifically requested someone who speaks English to explain a few things on the boat. However, when we spoke on the phone, I was unable to understand you, as you were not speaking English. so I don't understand why you would even put this review if you weren't speaking english yourself on the phone. I am originally from California and speak English fluently, and I made every effort to communicate clearly. If there was any misunderstanding, it was certainly not from me We truly value our guests and always aim to provide a positive experience. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Costa Rica. And with your review, I had to use google translator because I don't speak french.
Beautiful experience For the price but not justified. Precisely because it only takes 1 hour. Is. Arenal was unfortunately in the fog. Beautiful nature.

A lovely looking lake enhanced by good weather. It’s a bonus to get a clear view of the picturesque volcano though. My trip was mostly clear with blue skies and green hills in the background for most of the lake but the volcano was mostly covered in grey cloud. Still I enjoyed the relaxing trip and the driver made a number of stops to spot birds. Heading to different points on the shoreline and heading to a few coves. We managed to see a few king fishers alongside the more common birds. And a Kamen. The journey by coach after the trip along the windy up and down dusty and uneven roads was quite a drive and was hampered by road works. It is a shame that after an enjoyable boat ride you have to go out this way.
Our tour was a short easy walk through the peninsula section of the national park where we saw various birds and monkeys. We were supposed to be able to climb the observation tower, however it was roped off and we were not able to climb it. At the end of the hike we got on a boat for a private tour of Lake Arenal. The boat ride was spectacular. The driver and guide were able to spot lots of different birds, iguanas in the trees, caimans in the water and a boa constrictor in a tree. We were able to get some great photos of all the critters! At the end of the boat ride we were driven to a small family restaurant where we had some snacks and a drink. The food was delicious and it was a really nice opportunity to talk to the guide and driver. ( We invited them to sit with us at the restaurant, instead of sitting by themselves). I tried agua dulce which is a drink made from sugar cane that they like to drink…it was way too sweet for me, but I am glad I tried it. Lake Arenal has some interesting history. It was fascinating to learn about the area.
The boat tour was not good. It was raining and we requested to delay it, they denied. We didn't see anything. Rico was originally our captain, he showed up and then asked another person to be our captain. Our new captain was a lady, she was nice but she probably did not have the authority to change the tour. We basically sat inside the boat during heavy rain. It was completely a disaster.
I think you got the wrong company.Always keep in mind, guys. There's over twenty five boats on the lake
We did a 1 hour boat ride on lake Arenal. The captain mostly just took us to a spot where we could see the volcano and then he talked to us for about 10 minutes and then took us back. Didn't really try to show us any animals on the shore - not sure if there are any. It was OK but I don't think it's worth $120. No food or drinks on the boat.

Great tour with such beautiful scenery. Got to see parts of the national park and a great view of Arenal volcano.Highly recommended!
