En privat fuldt personlig dagstur til fødestedet til moderne OL og til et af de smukkeste områder i Grækenland, det antikke Olympia. I komforten og luksusen af vores helt nye Mercedes-køretøjer besøger vi et kort besøg i Corinth Canal, et imponerende ingeniørm mirakel. Ved ankomsten til det antikke Olympia vandrer du ved Philipio-resterne, den eneste runde bygning fra de græske oldtider, det storslåede Zeus-tempel, hvor den gigantiske Zeus-statue stod i 800 år, gå gennem en rund port som en gammel atlet og gå ind i OL Stadion, se tæt på Phidias-værkstedet og beundre unikke mesterværker af gammel kunst som Hermes of Praxitelis på stedet Museum. Frokost i den maleriske landsby moderne Olympia for at smage det lokale køkken. Vores returflyvning til Athen, vi tager en anden rute og rejser ved havet gennem små landsbyer og stopper ved den imponerende Rio Antirrio Bridge. Vi forlader Athen ved at krydse motorvejen til Korinth. Isthmus of Corinth er en smal bånd, der forbinder det græske fastland med Peloponnesos, mens kanalen, der bores på tværs af den, forbinder saronerne med den korinthiske bugt og dermed forbinder Det Ægæiske Hav med det joniske hav. Foruden templer er der resterne af alle de sportsstrukturer, der er opført til de olympiske lege, som blev afholdt i Olympia hvert fjerde år begyndende i 776 f.Kr. Når du vender tilbage kan du spise frokost på en typisk lokal restaurant.
Rio - Antirrio-broen er en af verdens længste multispændede kabler - opholdt sig broer og den længste af den fuldt ophængede type. Den åbnede en dag før OL i Athen 2004, den 12. august 2004, og blev brugt til at transportere OLYMPISK FLAMM. de samlede omkostninger ved broen var omkring 630 millioner euro. Andre kilder taler om 839 millioner euro.

It was worthwhile seeing the birth place of the Olympic Games. The tour operator via its driver (Petros) was an encyclopedia regarding ancient Greek culture and history. My only issue with this tour is that drive to the site takes a good four hours or so each way from central Athens; needless to say you’ll need a full day to complete this activity.

Great tour to see the site of the Birthplace of the Olympics. The drive from Athens to Olympia was beautiful. The museum and archeological site are fabulous. Our driver Tolis was amazing! He was friendly and informative and made the experience even better with his conversation and expert local advice.

The reviews are TRUE. This is the best company for your touring from Athens, Greece. The drivers are always attentive, friendly and helpful. We selected the Olympia Tour and also stopped at an Olive Farm near the Olympia site. On the road back to Athens our driver suggested interesting sites for short sight-seeing and beautiful vista locations. We ended the evening at a nice Greek Restaurant.
