Vores første besøg er til Akropolis og det arkæologiske sted omkring det.Den panoramaudsigt over hovedstaden fra den hellige sten er enestående. På den historiske bakke vil du have mulighed for at se Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Temple of the Athena Nike, den monumentale gateway (Propylaea), Erechtheum og selvfølgelig den berømte Parthenon, det vigtigste tempel dedikeret til jomfru gudinde Athena.
Herefter tager vi til Panathenaic Stadium, hvor de første moderne olympiske lege blev afholdt i 1896.
På Lycabettus Hill kan du nyde fantastisk panoramaudsigt over Athen, herunder seværdigheder som Akropolis og Egeerhavet. Omgivet af frodig grønt, dette rolige sted tilbyder et perfekt sted at slappe af, spise og fange betagende billeder af byen nedenfor.
Vi besøger derefter de unikke arkitektoniske monumenter i byens centrum, kendt som den athenske trilogi (Nationalbiblioteket – Universitetet – Akademiet for Athen).

We booked a private 5-hour Athens tour, and Margaret was wonderful. The weather was horrible and we had a very limited time before we caught our flight back to Crete, yet Margaret made it great with her master driving in chaotic Athens, and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Got the hotel pickup option and it was great. Giannis was on time and his van was clean and comfortable, He took us to all the highlights, which was great, but made even better by his flexibility on times at the various places. We ended up spending more time at the Olympic stadium but still made it to the changing of the guard right on time. When he dropped us at the Acropolis for our separate tour, he kept in touch with WhatsApp messages. You don't get the tour commentary, but you'll have fun!
