Denne rejse gennem hjertet af Østrig forbinder kejserlige storhed med den rolige skønhed af vingårde: rør de gamle sten i Klosterneuburg, vandre de romantiske gader i Dürnstein, og stå foran den gyldne Melk Abbey. Vi begynder vores rejse ved den majestætiske Klosterneuburg Abbey, et sted af dyb åndelig og historisk betydning. Skatten: Vi besøger Imperial Treasury for at se "Archdukal Hat." Det er ikke bare en krone, det er et symbol på regionens identitet. Atmosfæren: Gå gennem disse 900 år gamle saler, vil du føle forbindelsen mellem de herskende Habsburgere og munkene, der har bevogtet dette sted (og dets vin!) i århundreder.
Mellem klosteret og vinmarkerne nyder vi en afslappende køretur gennem det nederste østrigske landskab. Dette er det perfekte tidspunkt at sidde tilbage og lade landskabet rulle forbi. Mens din private chauffør navigerer, vil din guide dele fascinerende historier om Donauens historie eller blot lade dig nyde fred og ro før vores næste eventyr.
Når vi ankommer til Dürnstein, "Perlen af Wachau", vil du forstå, hvorfor digtere og malere elsker dette sted. The Walk: Vi vandrer gennem de stenede gader, fyldt med duften af aprikoser og charmen af gamle huse. The Legend: Ser op på ruinerne, vil din guide dele den romantiske og dramatiske historie om Richard Løvehjerte. Det er et perfekt sted for mindeværdige billeder. Lunch break: Denne charmerende landsby er også det ideelle sted at holde pause. Vi kan anbefale en hyggelig traditionel taverna eller en restaurant med udsigt over floden, hvor du kan nyde lækre lokale retter i en afslappet atmosfære. (Lunchen er ikke inkluderet).
Det er ofte den foretrukne del af dagen. Vi besøger et lokalt familievineri beliggende blandt vinmarkerne. Erfaringen: Der er ingen hastværk her. Vi sætter os ned for at smage den sprøde Grüner Veltliner og den elegante Riesling. Du vil møde de mennesker, der laver vinen, høre deres historier, og nyde den ægte østrigske gæstfrihed ("Gemütlichkeit"), som du ikke kan finde i store produktionshaller.
Den store finale er Stift Melk. At stå på sin terrasse med udsigt over dalen er en uforglemmelig oplevelse. På Melk udforsker vi klosterets gårdhave og besøger den storslåede klosterkirke – begge er frit tilgængelige – mens Vejlederen bringer klosterets 900-årige historie til live. Billetter til de indre statsværelser og biblioteket er ikke inkluderet, men kan arrangeres efter anmodning. Vi beundrer den fantastiske barok arkitektur og besøger kirken, som skinner med guld og lys. I stedet for at rush gennem museer, tager vi tid til at absorbere storheden af gårdene og den panoramaudsigt, der reflekterer over dagens skønhed.
Mens vi kører tilbage kan du lukke øjnene og slappe af, bærer med dig smagen af vin og minderne om en smuk dag. Aften kørsel tilbage til Wien (ca. 1 time) - hvile og nyde udsigten; hotel drop-off.

My mother and I were visiting Austria from Canada for my birthday. Jenny is without a doubt the best tour guide we have ever had. Jenny is not an average tour guide - she holds a Master’s degree, and her depth of knowledge of Austrian culture, architecture, history, and food and wine truly showed. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and able to answer every question we asked, whether it was about the Wachau Valley, Austrian history, wine, the Habsburgs, or something completely unrelated to the day’s itinerary. Jenny brought along an iPad filled with photos and other visual aids that made everything she explained easier to understand. It was obvious how much preparation and care she puts into every tour. Jenny is an exceptional storyteller. She has a gift for introducing the history behind an object or location before we saw it, so when we encountered it later, it felt like the culmination of the story rather than just another artifact or exhibit. We were on a tight schedule because I needed to return to Vienna in the evening, and Jenny seamlessly tailored the day around our interests while making sure we still had time to browse local shops, enjoy the castles and wineries, and we never felt rushed. Every stop was perfectly paced, thoughtful, and engaging. Beyond her incredible knowledge, Jenny is warm, personable, professional and it was genuinely lovely to spend the day with her. At several points throughout the tour it felt like we were just spending the day with our (brilliant and educated) friend. Jenny truly set the standard for what an exceptional guide should be. The entire experience was flawless from start to finish. We wouldn’t change a thing and would recommend Jenny for any tour in the region without hesitation. If you’re looking for a fun day with a guide who is brilliant, charismatic, engaging, exceptionally well prepared, and genuinely passionate about sharing Austria’s history and culture, Jenny is the one to book.

This tour was wonderful. The tour guide Jenny was fun, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We visited ancient and interesting castles and towns, had a lovely lunch, and learned quite a bit about wine making. Beautiful scenery and buildings. Thorough and interesting history. This was an absolutely wonderful day. I have wanted to visit the Wachau Valley for several years and just couldn't come up with the best way to do so. Our guide Jenny was very pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much about the places that we visited, the history of the area and the wines we tasted. She recommended a charming family owned restaurant in Durnstein where the food was hot and delicious on a day with a little rain. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

We were staying in Vienna but badly wanted to visit the Wachau Valley/Danube River, and Melk Abbey. This tour allowed us to do all of this and more! We even stopped at a local winery and ate lunch with the owner and visited his cellar. Jenny was both knowledgeable and personable and presented the information in an enjoyable manner. The day was organized and flexible enough to ensure our comfort snd enjoyment. My husband who tends to not enjoy tours, said it was the highlight of his trip! Highly recommend Jenny and this fantastic experience!

Top notch private tour of the Danube wine country with great stops at castles and vineyards. Convenient pick up and return to hotel. Great way to get out of Vienna and see the countryside. Knowledgeable tour guide and her husband (our driver) - highly recommend

We had a wonderful time getting out of Vienna and see the area along the Danube. We spent the day with Cozy in a private tour - driver, guide, and us. PIckup and dropoff at our hotel was perfect. The drive was comfortable as well as informative. We received a lesson on the history of the area accompanied by maps and pictures. We drove out the Melk. An amazing monastary/castle. Our guide supplemented the Kelb tour guide with extra details and background. Then drove on to Durnstein. We walked the streets accompanied by our guide again getting a great review of the history of the town. Next was lunch and wine tasting - including a tour of the wine cellar. Loved the food and the variety of wines. Finally we stopped at a castle/cathedral just outside Vienna. it was dark by then and we had the whole area to ourselves. It was a eerie mysterious way to end the day - bringing the history of the area to life. I would recommend using Cozy and look into other tours they conduct. Thanks!
