Amaru is a very young and very special guide. He has a grip and competence and therefore deserves my recognition.
Spectacular tour! Unforgettable! The agency guides are many good and give all the advice, especially the guide Amaru. Very attentive and concerned with us.
One of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. The tour is fantastic and Quechua Expeditions was excellent in everything from transportation, food and lodging. The guide Amaru, who accompanied me, was excellent - I've never had a guide so attentive and concerned about everyone's well-being. Thank you.
2-days well spent with our guides José and Amaru. Clear organisation of the activities, of the pick-up and of meals. A special thanks to Amaru who stayed with us on day 2 of the hike, taking us to the Salkantay Pass and supporting us in every moment!
The best!!! 11 days getting to know Peru, with excellent guides from Quechuas Expeditions, day by day the best experience and excellent treatment!!! Everything is great!! Highly recommended!! From the moment we arrived at the airport until our departure!! Everything is at 100!!
This was a truly amazing and wonderful experience. It was my husband and I in our late 40s, with 2 teen boys ages 13 and 16. Our guide was Rolando. His english was fantastic, and he spoke slowly and clearly in Spanish to help us all improve our spanish as well. Even on a 2 day tour, he let us get to know him and we left feeling like we had a new friend. He knew about the flora and fauna and history of the valleys and mountains around us. He was flexible and supportive of what we could and could not do physically( we DID do ALL of it, all the way to the pass!! at 4600m!!) The domes were super fun to stay in, the night sky was clear and the mountains majestic. The chef was Humberto and he had 18 years of cheffing it up on the trails in Peru, and his experience showed! It was truly gourmet. Presentation of the food was delightful. He was also personable. He brought us Coca Tea at 5am AT OUR DOME to help us wake up the morning of hiking up to the pass! What a guy! They truly went above and beyond and this was well worth the money. So much gratitude. p.s the treks were for sure a challenge, and it is helpful to really get aclimatized ahead of time if you can.
Steven was a fantastic guide for our 2-day Salkantay hike in October! He was friendly, insightful about Peruvian culture, and led us through breathtaking scenery. The food and accommodations were surprisingly luxurious—the chef even handled our dietary restrictions perfectly. Highly recommend Steven and this company!
ALERT: If you don't want to die on the mountain, don't hire them! Last August 4th we started our 2-day tour of the Salkantay by sleeping at the Sky Lodge. We hired this experience with this Enterprise because they assured that we would not have problems with my food intolerances and on their website they assure that you will not go hungry. 1. THIS ENTERPRISE HAS NO EMERGENCY PROTOCOL: Most seriously, the guide did not give the necessary medical indications during the ascent of Humantay Lagoon. I was ascending with tachycardia between 160-165 beats (when I exercise I am maximum 150) and the guide Jorge Castillo ensured that I could continue without difficulty. When we came down from the lagoon, I started to feel unwell with symptoms of altitude sickness that didn’t improve over the hours and most importantly, my heart rate didn’t drop below 120 at absolute rest. We proceeded to request emergency protocol to the situation (oxygen, nearby medical center, calls) and none existed. The guide informed that we would be incommunicado from 9pm, as they did not have satellite calls nor did we have telephone coverage. Faced with this medical situation (and isolation, since we were at least an hour from the first village) we requested the Enterprise to return us to Cusco and they offered no solution (return transport was included for the next day). The only thing they proposed was that we pay 450 soles in cash for an unauthorized transport (and illegal, since one of the cars we were in for almost 2 hours driving had neither seat belts nor headrests) and thus ensure that we would be in Cusco to descend, as they had recommended the health insurance. The next day, on August 5, 2025, I was admitted to the San Jose Clinic for 2 nights and 3 days with altitude sickness caused by tachycardia and low oxygen (I was kept on medication and oxygen for those 3 days). The doctor indicated that the GUIDE should have recommended me to come down immediately with the pulse of 160-165 that I had constantly for 2 hours. On discharge they recommended not to continue with the route and descend to avoid repeating the situation and we did so. 2. On August 8, one day after discharge, we proceed to go to the Enterprise due to lack of interest and communication. The Enterprise and the guide had not been contacted at any time to see my health status. Besides, we had a tour booked the next day and they didn't worry at all. The workers seemed not to know the situation very well (only about the car) and informed us that in the same afternoon they would give us an answer to the oral complaint. On September 3rd we still wait 3. In addition to the above, they do not comply with their policy of going hungry. At breakfast I could eat absolutely nothing: the fruit was in bad shape (not seen in the photograph), there was dry bread, scrambled eggs and coffee that I cannot eat due to intolerances (photo breakfast is attached). The worst thing about going hungry is seeing how the guides enjoy an awesome breakfast with rice and chicken among other things (it’s an embarrassment as Enterprise!) 4. During the ascent, we were recording at all times and the guide accompanied us correctly, but without worrying too much about my health (I also suffered a drop in tension during the climb). During the descent, we went down completely alone, the guide abandoned us (google video attached)!!!!!!!
Padrisima experience, the Quechua agency treated us super well and they were always on the lookout for everything, I recommend you ask the leydi guide, she was cute with us, I always take care of us and also Stevens who was our guide on the mountain. All 10 out of 10
The tour was beautiful! Glamping is a way to camp but very comfortable. Don't miss the lagoon! It's a show. To Salkantay, if you are not used to height or hiking, I suggest riding because it is heavy! Leidy was super excellent guide on this tour and throughout Cusco! Stevens accompanied us on the glamping tour of Salkantay & Humantay, he was always super friendly and professional. Highly recommended this tour.
