The experience was very beautiful overall. The tour offers nature, beaches, and the ocean, and that is exactly what you will find there. The people in Panama were very kind and welcoming, and the guy who picked us up was especially friendly and helpful. However, communication was very poor throughout the trip. When you pay for a tour, you expect clear information about who is in charge, when the tour starts, and at what time activities begin, but that was never very clear. When we arrived at the port, nobody explained that one of the girls was the tour coordinator, so we were mostly just following instructions without really understanding the plan. I think there may have been some confusion because originally we were told that the first day would be spent at the beach where we were staying, and the second day would be the actual tour day. There was also an issue with the accommodation. When I booked, I paid for a cabin with a private bathroom, but I believe they were overbooked. They contacted me offering either a refund or a change of dates, but neither option worked for me because of my travel schedule. In the end, they offered me accommodation on another island with a shared bathroom, which I accepted because I did not have many alternatives. Even with these inconveniences, the tour itself and the place were truly beautiful. My main recommendation for improvement would be communication. Guests should not have to constantly ask questions to understand what is happening. Also, the island residents may simply be reserved people, but sometimes it felt like very little information was provided to visitors.
Beautiful islands, very good experience and customer service. Boy dog island is beautiful. The natural pool is another level of wonder. You manage to keep the starfish up close.
Accommodation is very marginal, dorm like, Beaches filthy with trash Staff unorganized on islands, very organized but impersonal re transportation ( boats to islands) Life jackets with broken buckles
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We deeply regret that the trip did not meet your expectations and truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our services. It’s important to note that the San Blas Islands are managed by the indigenous Guna community, who maintain their own traditions and organizational practices. As such, the level of infrastructure and services differs from more developed tourist destinations. We always recommend researching the destination beforehand to ensure it aligns with your expectations and to better understand the local culture. Addressing Your Feedback Accommodation and Cleanliness: The experience in San Blas is intentionally rustic, aimed at those looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. However, we’ve noted your concerns and will share them with our local partners to work on improving cleanliness and comfort in shared spaces. Safety Equipment: Your observation about life jackets with broken buckles is a serious concern. We are reaching out to the local operators to ensure that all safety equipment meets the required standards. Please do not hesitate to ask to have your life jacket changed if the buckle is broken. Staff Organization: While we respect the autonomy of the Guna communities in managing their services, we will work on fostering better coordination and customer care on the islands. Our goal is to provide an authentic experience while respecting and supporting the traditions of the Guna people. We’re sorry for any inconvenience you faced and hope that, despite the challenges, you were able to enjoy the natural beauty and unique culture of San Blas. If you have additional details to share or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for helping us improve. Warm regards,
San Blas Guna Ayala Islands are beautiful, peaceful and stunning. The hosts at Perry Chico Island treat you with respect, are humble and always on hand to help you. The entire experience was 1st class from start to finish!
The island was absolutely fantastic!!! All in all, the tour was also well organized, everything went according to plan. The cottages are very simple, which is ok though. However, there are no towels and the showers are practically not usable as filled with brackish water!! I would have liked this info before; but the sensational beaches were worth it.
My friend and I stayed 2 nights during the week on Diablo island. It was beautiful. A great way to disconnect from the virtual world and live in the moment. Davies was our captain and lead our adventure. When we got to the island and there had been a mix up with our booking and we did not have a room for the second night. Davies quickly got on the phone and got everything resolved. We stayed in a rustic two bed cabin. Both nights had an intermittent reprieve from the heat with a lovely breeze sweeping over the beds once the windows were open. Eggs for breakfast with cornbread or bannock style toasts. Lunch and dinner was choice of fish or chicken with rice or potatoes. Each meal came with a salad. Drinks of canned pop or juice were 2 dollars. Beers were also 2 dollars. If you do not want to use coffee mate bring your own tetra of milk. Make sure to bring your own water. The coral reefs are wonderful and are home to many species of fish. After dinner we had the pleasure of seeing some sharks that came for some chum leftovers. We also saw sting rays around the area. Bring your mask and snorkel and make sure to read up on the coral. Was delighted to see some endangered species. Unfortunately not a lot of education for many about the coral and saw far too many walking on it. The staff and people of the island are wonderful hosts. They are sharing their home and you can see the pride they take in the islands they are the keepers of. If you want the five stars resort experience this is not for you, but if you are looking to engage in nature and marine life and spend time with genuine people then book today.
Beautiful little island (Perro Chico), gorgeous snorkelling at the shipwreck just meters from the shore. Awful, awful food unless you pay extra for the lobster. A strange lady there who seems to dissaprove of women like me travelling alone, or maybe that's just how she presents, this is a Guna family.
I booked 1 Night in Perro Chico Islands in San Blas - All included. It hides just in front of an amazing snorkeling spot, a Shipwreck full of tiny colored fishes. Perro Island is small in size, you can see across the island from one point to another. Everything was like promised - but expect rather simple accommodation and food. However, the location is terrific!! I have to admit that I have not been to the Caribbean before - so it was really something special for me. :)
It was so nice to find a place to relax (once you arrive to the islands of course), and spend some time with my husband! Thanks to San blas tours for the great trip!
We had a lovely time in Perro Chico. They have the best place to snorkel and the island is was a little heaven retreat for me and my husband!
