Hi there. The journey there and back is a horror. But in between just fantastic. I can recommended. .
We were put onto the wrong tour and the operator stopped contacting us after we asked for a compensation.
Mr Jack, you went to a more expensive trip, which was our island hopping for 2 nights, with more tours included. Where you were able to stay in 2 different islands. If you wanted to relax in the beach you had the option for not to take the tours, instead you took the tours and still wanted to be compensated. I am sorry but we do not see a reason for compensation. Thanks Marisol
We actually enjoyed our stay in San Blas, but nothing was as listed when we booked. Rather than going to Aguja, we were dropped at an island called Icodub. There was no snorkeling on the way to the island either. Actually, the next day, I was told that they were waiting for us to go snorkeling, but no one explained the change. When you arrive at the boat launch, along with dozens of others, it is like a cattle call. You are simply told to wait in a certain spot, which boat to get on when, and when to get off. Perhaps if you are fluent in Spanish you can sort these things out, but even though we know enough to ask basic questions, we were simply told this is what we have to do.
Dear client, Aguja is Icodub in local language :D I am sorry you weren ot able to enjoy your trip. Yesterday was one of the busiest days in the year in SAn blas islands, since all country is in Carnivals, and that can get very very crowded. We are aware some clients will not be happy with this, but still is an awesome place to go if you only have one chance to go. I recommend you to come in another date and you will have a great time! Abou the language, san blas is an indigenous zone and most of them speak only spanish, we have a English guide for the tour to visit other islands, and he is also local so he doest talk very fluent, but this is part of the adventure, and meet a new culture. We are providing english classes to they can reach a great level someday, but its not like they were 3-5 yo, it takes time. We support the all the local families we work with, and we are very proud on how they have developed in the last years.. we understand if san blas is not a destination for everyone, but people who like to inmerse in a new culture. The islands were so beautiful and original. I stayed on a small island called Aguja in a private bungalow. There was no wifi, no hot water, everything was simple and what I could do all the day was relaxing and being lazy. I really enjoyed visiting different islands around on a cano, which lasted for 2,5-3 hours on the second day. Dont forget to buy water and other stuff you need before you get on the island cause there was almost nothing there.
