South of the Llogara pass the coast becomes the Albanian Riviera: Palase and Dhermi at the foot of the mountain, Himara with its castle and its boat trips to hidden beaches, Porto Palermo where Ali Pasha built a fortress on a spit of land, and Ksamil with the islands you can wade to. Day trips take in three or four of them and usually the Blue Eye spring as well.
