It was fun riding, and enjoying the fun atmosphere of people sharing a new experience with drinks, music, and food.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the ride and the fun atmosphere, as well as the chance to share a new experience with great people, music, drinks, and food. That’s exactly the kind of vibe we aim to create. We hope to see you again on another tour soon!
I will preface this by saying in my opinion that CDMX has so much going that visiting Xochmilco under any circumstances isn't worth it. This tour in particular though.....just do not do it. The lack of communication was startling bad, starting in the morning when there was a long game of musical vans that had us dumped on the sidewalk for 15 or so minutes with nothing more than "you are changing vans." Through the next few hours very little information was shared about the structure of the day, or the places we were traveling to or through beyond that they were very important. Almost none of this information was in English despite choosing a bilingual tour. After a nearly 3 hour boring, silent drive, a short boat ride and another long boring drive we were dumped at the church in Coyocan with a "here is the church, it was built a long time ago see you in an hour." We gave up on the tour at that point and explored Coyocan on our own, which we wish we had done in the first place instead of wasting the morning. Coyocan is great. Take an Uber and enjoy yourself.
Dear Renee, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. We always strive to provide clear communication and engaging bilingual guiding throughout our tours, so it’s disappointing to know this was not reflected in your experience. Your comments have been shared with our operations team and guide management to review what happened that day and ensure improvements are made. We’re glad you still enjoyed your time exploring Coyoacán — it’s indeed a beautiful neighborhood — and we sincerely appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve the quality of our services. Kind regards,
Amazing experience and the tour guide Dante was great and informative both in English and Spanish also funny. Thanx Dante 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🌸 We’re very happy to know you enjoyed the Xochimilco, Coyoacán and UNAM murals tour. Dante will be thrilled to hear your compliments — he truly enjoys sharing his knowledge and humor with our guests. We hope to welcome you back soon for another amazing experience in Mexico! 🇲🇽✨
All very well the guide the transport. What I liked the most was how knowledgeable the guide was. Thanks for everything
Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Nos alegra saber que disfrutaste del tour con nuestro guía ¡Gracias a ti por acompañarnos y esperamos verte pronto en otro recorrido!
Should not offer as a service if they can’t book frida kahlo museum tickets. Day largely spent stuck in traffic or being taken to tourist traps - including instantly being taken to a trash ‘artisinal’ market for tourists to buy trash. Cheap-ish but you get what you pay for. Hate to leave a bad review but it is what it is.
We're sorry the tour didn’t meet your expectations. As stated in the tour details, Frida Kahlo Museum tickets are subject to availability. Before confirming your booking, we provided three alternatives: a full refund, a meal, or continuing the tour without the museum—which you opted for. Our itinerary is designed to offer a balance of cultural and local experiences, though we understand that not every stop resonates with everyone. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll continue refining our services to enhance future experiences. Regarding the itinerary, we aim to showcase a mix of cultural and local experiences, but we understand that preferences vary. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving our services.
I’ve been trying to find one good thing about this tour. I can’t. From the moment of pickup to the time of drop off I cannot think of a positive experience. Maybe it’s the way tours are arranged in Mexico City but it does not give a tourist a positive experience or want to take one of these tours again. I can understand not getting into the Kahlo museum because it was sold out for the day we went. We were not charged for it. Ah, there’s a positive. But to be picked up in one van and shuttled to a second meeting point was a waste of time. We spent enough time doing that in traffic but again it’s Mexico City. I never got the name of our actual guide but from the beginning I had the feeling it was not going to matter. Our guide was able to give us general information about the sites we did see. Unfortunately, he was not receptive to questions and did not enhance the experience with additional information when asked. He very nicely discouraged questions. The guide should be very cautious about letting people stray from the group. This happened a couple of times which caused further delays for the remaining group. One last concern. The description of this tour was very confusing. It seems if the museum had been available and we chose and paid for that portion of the tour, we would not have been able to participate in the Coyoacan tour. As I read the inclusions it sounded like it would have been both. According to the guide, this is not the case. Unfortunately I don’t know if this is a Viator problem or a Encuentro T problem.
We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. At Encuentro T we are constantly working to improve our services. Transfers in Mexico City can be complicated due to traffic and high season, but we do our best to optimize times. We will take into account your comments about the clarity of the descriptions and the attitude of the guide to ensure a more enriching experience in the future. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve. We are sorry if you found the information confusing. It is important to carefully review the available options when booking, as each tour has specific inclusions. Additionally, we send clarifying messages when the museum is not included to avoid misunderstandings, although we understand that these are sometimes not read in detail. We value your comments very much and continue working to improve our customers' experience.
First and most importantly: if you have your heart set on visiting this museum, book a ticket in advance. You won't be able to just show up. It's small and always sold out. From what I can tell, there are about 10 tickets sold for each 15-minute window, so those 10 people with the "2:30pm" ticket line up at 2:15 or so and then get let in at 2:30. As to the museum itself, it was a pretty neat learning experience about the artist's life. Plenty of biographical information and artifacts about her medical challenges. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't all that much art on display. I probably saw less than a dozen works by Frida Kahlo. Maybe I wasn't being observant enough, but that was my impression. I expected this to be an art museum, and it really wasn't. The home and outdoor space on the property were surprisingly big--interesting to learn that she grew up there and hence her family owned it before she was successful/famous. Quite a cool space in which to live and work. Location: It's a bit of an effort to get here from the zocalo or Roma Norte or Polanco. We took a taxi one time and it was a marathon. On a second trip, we took the metro, and that was quicker and quite efficient (and only 5 pesos!!). There are some cafes within a block or two to cool your heels while you wait for your timed entry or want to get some food after your visit. Overall: worth checking out. Book in advance!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Booking in advance is definitely key for this museum. It’s great to hear you enjoyed learning about Frida Kahlo’s life and exploring the property. Hope to see you soon All best
The first visit was at Rafael’s Plateria. With the demo and sales which involved 2 hours - itcould have been avoided. Next was Coyoacán -which was good and then visit to UNAM. By this time it was 2 pm. Then finally we visited Xochimilco and had lunch on the Trajerina. Most of our group were Spanish speaking. The Guide was cooperative and did his best. But most of the times he was speaking in Spanish and I felt that there was a general aversion to English. The self pay lunch was organized on the Trajerina and was exciting with musicians playing around. The meal was to be ordered and luckily with the guide’s suggestion, we could avail of Vegan food. Return was by about 4.15 pm. Surely it could have been made into a half day tour.
Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed Coyoacán, UNAM, and the vibrant Xochimilco experience with live music and vegan options. We’ll review the itinerary and language balance to enhance future tours. Your insights are greatly appreciated!
The trip offered included Frieda Kahlo museum but on the day of trip it’s not. Just a stop at museum to take pictures
Hello Eva We understand the confussion and apologized for that, unfortunately you selected the "Frida Kahlo Not Included" option, the museum is only available in the "Frida Kahlo Included" option. Besides I did sent you a message mentioning your option is without the museum. I hope besides this you enjoyed your day!
Daniel was our tour man. He was amazing, he explained to us so many things and it was so easy to spend the entire day with him. Highly recommended to get this excursion, you don't have to drive and you have everything in the schedule to make everything happen in one day. Communications through the app was very easy. We did this excursion and the day after the one to Teotihuacán, same company, and both were amazing.
Thank you for your glowing review! We're very happy you enjoyed both excursions with us, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. Should you ever wish to explore more destinations or embark on further adventures, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to assist you in planning your next unforgettable experience!
