The tour goes to Oxford first, then to Windsor, which means that most of the “free time” to explore on your own is in Windsor whereas your time in Oxford is highly regimented. Windsor is cute, but has far less to offer for exploration than Oxford. Also, the “guided tour of Windsor” is just that — a walking tour of the tiny village of Windsor, NOT of Windsor Castle. That should have been made clearer in the tour description. Finally, the advertised “visit to the Bodleian library” is limited to a quick peek into the courtyard, in front of the library but does NOT enter the library itself which, again, is a bit misleading advertising copy. The tour guide, Simon, was knowledgeable about the buildings we walked past and also had some interesting tidbits to share re: the etymology of some words and phrases (where does “posh” come from, or the “graveyard shift”, or “hangover”), none of which were directly pertinent to the tour. I would have liked to hear more context, more history, more narrative rather than a description of a building’s function. It didn’t help that Simon wielded his power to shepherd the group along the ambitious timetable without grace or humor. All in all, I would have skipped this tour if I had known what exactly it entailed and just taken a train to Oxford myself. It was still a decent experience though, YMMV.
The tour is well organized, time is enough , our guide Simon is so lovely , he gave a lot of information , our driver Abdi is also a good driver.I recommend this tour to everyone .
We had a fantastic day trip to Windsor Castle and Oxford. Everything was well organized, and it was a great way to experience both places in one day. A huge thank you to Cameron, who was an excellent guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the tour. Jon was a wonderful driver as well, making the journey smooth and comfortable. They both made the day enjoyable, and we would definitely recommend this tour!
The Windsor Castle and Oxford Small Group Tour was absolutely fabulous, especially due to our Guide, Cameron and our Driver, Jon. Jon’s driving was wonderful- smooth, safe, timely - and he was very customer friendly. Cameron was spectacular- entertaining, informative (wonderful knowledge of sites and details), and very oriented to providing his guests everything they need. His list of facts was astounding , especially the origin of phrases. My favorites were piss poor, cost an arm and a leg and honeymoon. Just a wonderful time and tour. The other three couples were great to get to know and the small group experience was perfect.

Our tour guide’s name was Cameron. He did the best job a tourist could possibly ask for. He was funny, informative, and incredibly nice. He had some very interesting facts, such as how a place in Oxford relates to something in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Overall, the bus was very nice and clean. The chairs could recline and were very soft and comfortable. Our driver, Ajay, was also very good!
