De vackra och ikoniska klippformationerna vid Ras Brouq ger en glimt av ett förhistoriskt landskap. Och däremellan får du se Mushroom Rock Formation, Zekreet Village och Zekreet Fort Ruins.

Zekreet är en by i nordvästra Qatar. Zekreet-fortet ligger på Qatars västkust, 90 km från Doha. Fortet har en mycket distinkt layout som gör det möjligt att se de två olika faserna av konstruktionen. Ursprungligen byggdes fortet som ett enkelt torg utan torn i varje hörn. I en andra fas av utvecklingen lades torn till i de yttre fyra hörnen av fortet.
Den internationellt hyllade konstnären Richard Serra lägger till den häpnadsväckande öst-väst-/väst-öst-skulpturen till ökenlandskapet och tar konsten till folket. East-West/West-East har blivit ett känt landmärke i Qatar sedan installationen 2014. Denna hisnande skulptur i Brouqs naturreservat sträcker sig över en kilometer och består av fyra stålplåtar, var och en över fjorton meter höga.
Du kan också se Zekreet-stranden. Där du kan se många människor komma för kitesurfing och parasegling.
Området sticker ut på grund av sitt ovanliga landskap med vita klippor. Landskapets form och färg är ett resultat av erosionen av mjuka kalkstenslager, medan de vindformade vita klipporna och bisarra geologiska formerna, som svampformade kullar, gör området unikt och speciellt för Qatar.

Our guide, Zubair, was very knowledgeable and was able to give us lots of information about the sites we visited and even sites along the journey which was very interesting. He spoke good English and drove well in a very comfortable and well air conditioned vehicle. Would definitely recommend!

An interesting trip out of Doha, with the highlight being Richard Serra's amazing East-West / West-East art installation. It was also worth seeing the striking landscape around Mushroom Rock. All-in-all, we enjoyed our time with our guide Muhammad, who was knowledgeable, polite and patient. We felt in very safe hands.

Excellent half-day tour of Western Qatar that included the Mushroom top rocks, East-West West-East monoliths, Zekreet Fort ruins. We also did a stop at the camel race track for a quick look around. Our guide, Zubair was engaging and well informed about the area and the sites we visited.

This was a last-minute travel decision made after seeing photos of Richard Serra’s land art and the Zekreet rock formations. The tour did not disappoint. Muhammad Yasin did a wonderful job touring us to this fascinating and underappreciated destination.
