Njut av en heldag, all inclusive äventyr i Wellington, Midgårds hem. Besök några fantastiska platser från Sagan om ringen-filmerna, njut av en läcker lunch och besök den berömda Weta Workshop, där filmerna skapades. Vi är Wellingtons ursprungliga Sagan om Ringen-turné och har varit verksamma sedan 2002. Welly Rings Tours, som tidigare hette Rover Rings Tours [före Covid], är stolta över att visa Wellington som Midgård. Våra fans-vända-guider kommer att dela med dig fascinerande historier om skapandet av dessa filmer som du sannolikt inte kommer att höra någon annanstans - främst för att några av våra guider var faktiskt där!

Fördjupa dig i hjärtat av Wellywood och besök Weta Workshop, en verkstad för fysiska effekter som skapade all rekvisita, rustningar, vapen, kostymer, miniatyrer och proteser för Sagan om Ringen och Hobbit-filmerna. Lär dig filmmagins hemligheter på en rundtur bakom kulisserna av en Weta-anställd, som kommer att förklara den kreativa processen bakom att få dessa filmer till liv. Du har också chansen att ta bilder med olika karaktärer och vapen, samt att unna dig en souvenir eller två, om så önskas.
Njut av en fantastisk panoramautsikt över hamnen och staden från Mt Victoria-utsikten. Din guide kommer att prata om landmärkena du kan se från toppen och hjälpa dig att ta bilder. Mt Victoria finns alltid på listan över saker att göra i Wellington, så vi tänkte att vi skulle bespara dig besväret att gå uppför kullen för att komma dit!
Kör förbi Embassy Theatre som användes för att vara värd för två världspremiärer av Midgårdsfilmerna - The Return of the King och An Unexpected Journey. Din guide kommer att dela berättelser och bilder av hur Wellington bokstavligen förvandlades till mitten av Midgård.
Gå ner i de skogsklädda sluttningarna av den närliggande Outer Shire, där våra expertguider kommer att förklara processen för filmskapande och underhålla dig med berättelser om hur Sagan om ringen-filmerna väcktes till liv. Du kommer att följa i fotspåren av Frodo och Hobbitarna när de började sin strävan att förstöra One Ring. Du kommer att se "genvägen till svamp", "gå av vägen" och gömma dig från Black Riders innan du flyr till Buckleberry Ferry. Du kommer att få chansen att återskapa några av de mest kända scenerna från The Fellowship of the Ring och få dina sociala medieströmmar att bli galna!

Harcourt Park aka The Gardens of Isengard. Här kommer du att se hur denna normala, vardagliga park förvandlades till scenerna där Gandalf red till Saruman som sökte råd och trollkarlarna gick genom trädgårdarna och diskuterade sin situation. Det var också här orcherna började fälla träden när det avslöjades att Saruman hade vänt sig till den mörka sidan...
Kaitoke Regional Park, en fantastisk, tusen år gammal, tempererad regnskog. Detta användes som platsen för det vackra Rivendell, det sista hemtrevliga huset öster om havet. Här kommer du att fördjupa dig i den magiska miljön och lära dig hur området förvandlades till Elronds hus, Frodos sovrum och bron där Arwen och Aragorn delar en kyss. Du kan släppa din inre elf och ta ett foto som återskapar en berömd Legolas-bild och sedan återskapa scenen där Frodo leder det nybildade Fellowship mot Mordor genom att posera framför Rivendell gate-tornet som är den enda Lord of the Rings replikstrukturen i hela Nya Zeeland utanför Hobbiton. Du kommer också att se en scen från Fords of Isen, där Eomund hittades av Eomer i början av The Two Towers, och har en chans att korsa en svängbro och besöka ett gigantiskt 800 år gammalt inhemskt Rimu-träd och lära dig något av Nya Zeelands flora och fauna.

Upphämtningsplatser och tider
Var medveten om att upphämtning kan ordnas upp till 15 minuter före eller efter den planerade avgångstiden. Detta kommer att meddelas dig 24-48 timmar innan din tur. För alla som anländer med kryssningsfartyg kan vi hämta och lämna direkt från hamnen. Vänligen välj Cruise Ship Port när du bokar och meddela ditt fartygsnamn. Om du bor utanför Wellington City och planerar att köra in till stan, rekommenderar vi parkering på Barnett Street bredvid Te Papa Museum.

The tour was so worth it. Wellington’s weather was not playing nicely, but Marc was an exceptional tour guide who shared interesting stories and experiences while showing us film locations. It is a tour I would happily do again!

Unmissable for any LOTR fan!!! Robbie is one of the best storytellers that I have ever met - his extensive participation as an extra in the LOTR trilogy made him an absolute insider… Do not hesitate to book this tour! The connection that you’ll experience to actual filming locations (where your imagination takes over and transports you back to the movies) is astounding!! Highly, highly recommended - the 8 hours passed by in the blink of an eye.

This tour was excellent. There were multiple locations used around Wellington, and we visited them all. From some of the River Anduin scenes, to where the Hobbits tumbled down the side of the hill as they are escaping Farmer Maggot. Even the spot where they hid under the tree from the black rider, though this tree was just a prop in the film you can still see where they hid. This was just in the morning. Then to top it off we drove past Stone Street Studios (where the looked to be setting up for the Hunt for Gollum) which was cool and then onto Weta Workshop to see all the props and how they were made for the films even getting the chance to pick up some swords and dress up. And it was interesting to see some of the other projects that Weta have worked on, not just Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit Lunch was included and afterwards, we visited the Forrest where Rivindell was filmed, took pictures and got to dress up and get some great photos. We also got to drive past the quarry where Helms Deep and Minas Tirith were built however since this is a working quarry there is no public access. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting and even had some behind the scenes stories as she worked on the Lord of the Rings films. Overall an excellent day

Had a wonderful and memorable time. Our tour guide Grant was so friendly, approachable and helpful. A surprising and enjoyable tour around the LOTR locations near to Wellington. Our guide, Garth, was very adept at bringing to life the scenes that were filmed at these sometimes innocuous places. The Weta Workshop included tour was fascinating and fun. A must for LOTR afficionados.
