It was a wonderful and rewarding experience. Cristina, with her knowledge and affection, made me much more in love with the culture of Peru. Just thank you!
Lovely experience of trying highlights of food and drinks of the Peruvian culture. It was raining, but we still had a great time.
We had a wonderful time on this food tour! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn the cultural and historical significance behind some iconic Peruvian food. Our guide, Cristina was so friendly and knowledgeable. I felt like I learned so much and she answered all our questions. Both my husband and I were full by the end of the tour, so don't have a big meal beforehand. When we first arrived at the meeting place, the entry door was a bit hidden but we asked a staff member of the restaurant in the courtyard for help, and they were able to direct us to the correct place. All the food on the tour was delicious, and there was nothing extreme or too strange. We absolutely loved this experience.
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Definitely the best tasting good or off all the food tours I've ever taken. I 100% recommend this!!! One little thing- it was a little hard for me to find. Once you get to the address, there is a small hallway to the back right of the courtyard. Go through there to find your trip :)
I went with a friend to the cooking class and we had from the first moment a fantastic and fun time with Jose! Jose is super knowledgable, fun and engaging. We could try the different Peruvian fruits, learn more about the history/culture and influences on the cuisine before we have prepared our own Ceviche, Lomo Saltado and Pisco Sour! If you are in Cusco and like food then this is a NO BRAINER!
We enjoyed our time on the tour immensely however, got incredibly sick that night and ended up going to a med clinic. We both had salmonella and a parasite. I think we would have been fine if we didn’t both eat the street food on the tour (our guide had assured us before that the food was safe). Overall, we were both sick for over a week and missed out on seeing as much of Cusco as we had hoped.
We meet at the cooking school and learned to make cocktails and mocktails and had a few delicious small apps, including ceviche, stuffed potato, and caramelized olives. I learned about pisco, ceviche, potatoes, and peruvian food. We walked and tasted a little street food (tamales and grilled heart), and ended at a cute spot for fried dough rings w honey. There was lots of food! I couldn't finish it all. Tasty and good.
This is a fun and informative tour with some amazing food! Fabricio was our guide and he made the evening special. He patiently answered all the questions we had about Peru and Peruvian cuisine. He even got us to try Guinea pig and llama sausage! Don’t miss this tour!
The entire tour was an experience, beginning with making Pisco Sours. The second stage was fresh trout and a wonderful potato dish like no other! The third was an experience tasting grilled meats, and lastly hot picones.
One of the better food tours I’ve had! Our tour guide Christina was amazing and extremely knowledgeable about Peruvian cuisine and culture! Tour started at a very nice restaurant where we changed rooms a couple of times and tried some fancy appetizers and Peruvian cocktails. After that we moved out in a town to try the street food!
