Den ursprungliga medeltida bostaden, som ligger på en sten ovanför floden Vltava, omvandlades senare till en barock fästning som omger en lugn park som erbjuder en spektakulär utsikt över staden. Besök den neo-gotiska basilikan av heliga Peter och Paul för att bevittna den vackra jugendstilen, gå igenom den angränsande Vyšehradkyrkogården - där de mest framstående personligheterna i tjeckisk kultur, vetenskap och politik har begravts - och utforska Vyšehrads dolda underjordiska casemater.

Möt din guide i centrala Prag precis framför ingången till Nationalmuseet på toppen av Vaclavplatsen. Efter en kort tunnelbaneresa kommer du att bli imponerad av den förtrollande utsikten över Prag när du tar dig till fortet.
Gå in i portarna till barockfästningen och gå genom det stora parkområdet som rymmer gömda skatter inklusive det romanska kapellet St. Martin från slutet av 1000-talet. Besök sedan Collegiate Church of Saints Peter and Paul (ansluten till Vyšehrads Royal Collegiate Chapter) som byggdes radikalt om i nygotisk stil i slutet av 1800-talet och är dekorerad med fresker i jugendstil. Fortsätt gå genom den intilliggande kyrkogården där du kan se gravarna för några av de mest anmärkningsvärda tjeckiska konstnärerna som Antonín Dvořák och Bedřich Smetana, Alfons Mucha och Karel Čapek. Sakta ner och ta reda på vilka de var och vad som var speciellt med deras liv. Ta dig tid och njut av den fantastiska utsikten över staden och om du fortfarande vill se mer, gå in i de underjordiska kasemattarna innanför Vyšehrads befästningsmurar som innehåller några av de ursprungliga barockstatyerna från Karlsbron!

The grounds the church and the cassments were very good . The views were excellent a very tranquil place. The guide was very knowledgeable, but for me personally I felt a little uncomfortable going around making the cemetery an attraction when it is still an active cemetery and maybe a little disrespectful. I would recommend this trip , it’s only my personal preference not to include this bit x

Vojta was our guide for this little walk. Visit of the castle and casemates included in the price, the activity is embellished with historical details and superb views of Prague from Visherad. Provide a little wool for the visit of the casemates, it is a little cool...

This review is for the Casements and Gorlice only. I forget the cost but it was nominal and well worth it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The original statues from the Charles Bridge are stored there and very detailed and impressive. It was all part of an enjoyable afternoon in the Vysehrad complex.

I got to the full guide throughout this thought-provoking and relaxing tour in and around Vysehrad. It was a relatively quiet venue away from the hustles and bustles of tourists, even though I am one of them. Toward the end, their own guide led all the others at Golice. Unfortunately it was done in local tongue which I did not understand at all. But I got to see the original statues of the Charles Bridge, which was a hidden jewel.

The tour guide was a nice person. However The tour literally consisted of walking around the walls of the fortress killing 2 hours so the guide could hand us off for the Casemates portion. It was just my wife and I. We met the guide at the museum and she took us by subway to the attraction. We did go through the church with very little commentary and the graveyard where she did point out a few graves. Overall Little information was giving on the fort. Felt like she didn’t want to be there. She pointed out a few things here and there but really didn’t go into detail. The casemates was done by a different guide who had every bad English and mostly talked in Czech. That started when a lame video of some glass maker guy. She told to go to the subway and take the train back. On our own. We don’t speak or read Czech so that was not possible we used Uber instead.

This tour states that the entrance to Narodni Museum is included but we did not receive tickets to the museum. Also it says metro is included but we actually used our own metro tickets and the guide did not have to buy it ‘coz we already had tickets our own. The tour is informative and nice castle. Inside The Casemates and Gorlice have beautiful glass sculptures. The guide is knowledgeable and professional.
Our guide was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. It was like seeing Prague with an old friend! Vysehrad is a must-see place.
