Byggt av vikingarna för över tusen år sedan Reginald's Tower är Irlands äldsta samhällsbyggnad. Stående på spetsen av Waterfords vikingatriangel visar tornet många historiska avsnitt från Strongbow till Cromwell, Perkin Warbeck, King James II och många fler.
En klosterbosättning fanns på Little Island från 600-talet till 800-talet e.Kr. En snidning av ett munkhuvud från denna period pryder slottets ingång till denna dag. Vikingarna anlände på 800-talet och två befästningar byggdes på ön Vryk "Danes Island". Normanderna kom nästa invaderande 1170 och Maurice Fitzgerald, Stongbows kusin, hölls fången på Little Island av Ossermen under erövringen. Han belönades vederbörligen med mycket mark i efterdyningarna och därmed skulle ön bli hem för Earls of Kildare i åtta århundraden.

Great way for a family to travel up the suir and gain some insights into some of the local history. John our guide was very knowledgeable and Andy let my youngest pilot the boat.

It was such fun! I'm pretty good with the history in Ireland and the vikings etc but my family and I learned so much on this tour. The guide and the captain (Mary & Andy) were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. There was complimentary tea, coffee, water, juice and snacks offered. There was also binoculars available to use and viking hats for photo opportunities! I'll definitely be booking again next time I'm in Waterford. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!!

Andy and Mary were very welcoming hosts. Andy was the captain and Mary explained everything. In saying that, so did Andy. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. My wife and I were the only 2 on the boat because a group of 4 cancelled. They brought us out anyway. I'd recommend it to everyone

A beautiful scenic boat ride. A little light on the Viking history side, however, rich with Irish culture and history. John the narrator was fun and friendly. He walked us over to O’Sullivans and introduced us to the owner. Live entertainment was really pleasant. ML
