Thoroughly enjoyed the tour magnificent Versailles palace and the gardens. It’s a must see! Epic proportions!
Transport to and from city center was easy and convenient. During the tour, we had to switch tour guides for an unrelated issue, however our guide for the second half was hard to understand and felt significantly lower in quality compared to our first. Our guide forced us out of the palace at the end of the tour stopping us from exploring on our own. The gardens part of the tour was self led so that was fine.

To clarify how this tour is conducted, our clients are transported from Paris together with a coordinator and are then organized into groups at Versailles to meet their official palace guide. Because the palace portion is a structured group guided tour, guests must remain with the group until the guided segment concludes. Great tour, the guide was friendly and informative. The guided tour consists of the palace, not the gardens, for which you buy a separate ticket when booking. You are left to explore the gardens on your own, and are given a map of the property. Some information on how to make the most of the garden tour would be helpful as things can be very crowded at peak tourist seasons and you’re juggling waiting for your meal with covering the grounds. As for Versailles itself, definitely a must see!

It was such a nice expérience. The guide Anaīs did an excellent job. All the staff were kind. Our host Tatiana was very patient and accommodating.
Our group of eight booked a Versailles tour with City Wonders. On the morning of the tour, I followed the company’s instructions and emailed them to let them know we might arrive slightly late due to traffic. When our taxi reached the meeting point, it could not safely pull over because of traffic congestion. I immediately contacted City Wonders again and asked if they could connect us with the on-site guide or simply provide our Versailles entrance tickets so we could make our own way to the palace. We were trying to salvage the day, not asking for special treatment. What disappointed me most was the customer service. Rather than attempting to help or explore any reasonable solution, every response was inflexible. There was no effort to connect us with the guide, no willingness to release the tickets, and no attempt to work with us despite our proactive communication. Travel disruptions happen, and I understand companies have policies. My review is about the lack of customer service and the unwillingness to assist a group that made every effort to communicate and still enjoy the experience.

We appreciate that you contacted us to let us know you were experiencing delays. Unfortunately, as this is a scheduled group tour with timed entry tickets and pre-arranged transportation, we are required to depart at the designated time. Delaying the group's departure would risk the entire group missing their reserved entrance time at Versailles, which would negatively impact all of the other guests who arrived as instructed. For this reason, we ask all guests to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. This check-in period, which is clearly outlined in our pre-tour communications, allows sufficient time to verify bookings, distribute equipment where applicable, and ensure the group can depart promptly. Regarding your request for the entrance tickets, these are managed as part of the guided group booking and cannot be separated from the tour or transferred for independent use. Likewise, once the tour has departed, it is not operationally possible for our guides to wait behind or coordinate individual meet-ups without disrupting the experience for the rest of the group. While we understand this was a frustrating situation, our team did advise of the available option to reschedule your tour, subject to availability, which is the alternative we are able to offer in circumstances such as these. We sincerely regret that traffic prevented you from joining the tour as planned and appreciate you sharing your experience.
