Piazza Bra är centrum för det sociala livet i Verona. Torget förbises av den majestätiska arenan och av Palazzo Barbieri, stadshuset. Därifrån är det också möjligt att se Palazzo Gran Guardia och Museo Lapidario.
Denna otroliga romerska amfiteater byggdes under 1:a århundradet e.Kr. Namnet "arena" syftar på sanden som täckte scenen där gladiatorerna slogs. Från och med idag används den fortfarande för offentliga shower och konserter.
Herbs torg är stadens gamla romerska forum. I mitten av torget kan du se Madonna Veronas fontän, ett monument som representerar staden som en vacker kvinna. Idag är torget en viktig mötesplats för lokalbefolkningen, gammal som ung.
Julia's House är ett måste för alla besökare till staden som vill se den romantiska sidan av Verona. Detta tornhus går tillbaka till slutet av 1200-talet och visar en basrelief av en hatt som enligt traditionen är familjen Capulets vapen. Vi stannar ute i trädgården, utan att gå in.
Även kallad Piazza Dante, för statyn tillägnad den viktigaste italienska poeten, är Piazza dei Signori inramad av olika viktiga byggnader, som Palazzo della Ragione och Palazzo Podestà. Det är här du kommer att säga adjö till din guide.

This was a brilliant tour. Alessandro was so knowledgeable and he is clearly passionate about his home city. It really was the perfect way to familiarise us with the Verona. We did the 10.30am tour and were finished by lunchtime. Alessandro was really good at pointing out great places to eat and drink. One to which we returned after the tour and had the best focaccia pizza ever. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks!
Unfortunately we took an evening tour, (in addition, the tour was postponed 1h from 17.30 to 18.30) and all the cozy and nice places we saw and got tips about were closed when we were done with the tour. Super nice guide that I forgot the name of.

Alessandro is SUPERB--I've been on many guided tours throughout Italy and this may have been the very best. He's deeply knowledgeable, articulate (with easy to understand English), and just solid in every way. Through the entire tour he wove together fascinating history of this city with countless recommendations of restaurants and gelateria. He truly helped us fall in love with Verona. If we were here longer we'd take his food & wine tour for sure.
