Det är en elegant konstruktion från 100-talet e.Kr. av den romerske arkitekten Vitruvio, som hyllar släkten Gavias ära, en viktig romersk familj i Verona.
Det byggdes av romarna på 1:a århundradet e.Kr., under den augustianska perioden. Än idag är Arenan den berömda miljön för Veronas spektakulära operasäsong.
Du kommer att se innergården till Capuletis hus, där den berömda huvudpersonen i den Shakespeareska tragedin bodde.
Romeos hus är ett medeltida palats i centrala Verona. Fram till början av 1300-talet var det hem för familjen Montecchi som enligt legender och litterära texter var Romeos familj. Byggnaden är privat, bebodd och vi kan bara se den från utsidan
Det är den största piazzan i Verona, kantas av många kaféer och restauranger, tillsammans med flera charmiga byggnader
Det är Scaligeri-kyrkogården. Förutom flera sarkofager hittar vi de tre underbara bågarna byggda för Cangrande I, Mastino II och Cansignorio.
Det var Forum, centrum för stadslivet under romartiden. I mitten av torget finns monumenten som symboliserar de olika härskarna i Verona: den mest kända är fontänen, byggd under Scaligeris styre.
Piazza dei Signori var det tidigare maktcentrumet i Verona. En stor staty av den berömda italienska poeten Dante Alighieri har dominerat torget sedan 1865 och gav torget smeknamnet "Piazza Dante".

It was difficult to understand the tour guide who was Italian and gave the tour in English. He showed us basic historical sites with a little explanation. You could probably read up on sites to see on your own.

Guide never showed up to the walking tour. Called the office after 15 minutes of waiting, they stated the person had an emergency. It would have been nice for the office to let us know so that we didn’t have to travel to the city for nothing.
