This was a lot of fun. Our guide was Anthony, and we appreciated spending the day with him. Pickup was perfectly on time. There were only the three of us on the trip so he gave us flexibility in what to do and how long to spend. After the scheduled overlook and waterfall stops he took us for lunch at the pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River (we wanted a brew pub) - highly recommend! After lunch we had the choice of Mount Hood or a winery. It was cloudy, so the Stave and Stone Winery it was. Also recommend this - very peaceful, good wine and snacks, wonderful lavender gardens, and a view (through the clouds) of Mt Adam. Then back to Portland, where Anthony dropped us off at our two hotels. Great day!
Awesome! Thank you for the review.
Alex was a great guide for our journey through waterfalls and wineries. Informative, fun and flexible with our stops. Would happily do it all over again in the future!
Thank you so much for the feedback ☺️. We trully pride ourselves in providing this waterfalls and wine tour daily and year-round. It's an excellent tour and highly recommended for anyone that wants to experience the Columbia Gorge, Multnomah falls, Hood River for lunch or a brewery lunch pairing, and a vineyard experience, multiple scenic stops all in one day.
Our experience was great with Travis! He was an excellent guide and driver, sharing local history, recommending great options and keeping us on time to make it to all the sites we wanted to see. The area is gorgeous. I do highly recommend this experience. The reservation process left a bad taste in my mouth though. We reserved with no trouble. Then I got about five emails from TripAdvisor telling me I had to complete my reservation. I clicked the link in one of the emails and it brought me to the form again. So I completed it and received confirmation it had booked. Then Paul from Willamette Tours contacted me asking if I meant to book twice. After confirming that was not my intent, he cleared me to get a cancelation from Viator. I reached out to TripAdvisor and they told me to connect with Viator. I have been trying to figure out how to contact Viator for six days now without success. So I guess I’m just out an extra $500+, which doesn’t feel good.
Oh my gosh, I'm a bit saddened to get this negative review after so much work I put helping you cancel and receive a refund from Viator after you mistakenly booked the tour twice by accident. While we appreciate your kind words about our actual Waterfalls and wine tour from Portland, this is the first negative review we have had in 8 years of operation, and the review is not even about us but Viator and TripAdvisor. All I can say is, please be delligent clicking buttons, emails etc, as we are not the ones sending you emails when you shop around for experiences and tours. I did all I can to clear the confusion about your double booking which came in 2 weeks apart from each other and spent time on the phone with you explaining how to correct it with Viator as we were not the ones who received your money. For future guests I encourage you to reach out to us directly to discuss the tour, and details as you might receive better terms and rates and avoid confusion from third party vendors. Warm Regards, Team Willamette Valley Tour
Really enjoyed this tour. Travis did a terrific job taking us to the sights and pointing out highlights. My wife and I were the only ones on the tour so Travis offered to “customize” the tour. We stopped at Multnomah Falls, which was beautiful. We then proceeded to the pFriem Brewery and enjoyed some brews and food. Then proceeded to the Stave and Stone Vineyard, which was spectacular. Drank some wine and had snacks overlooking Mount Hood and had a walk in the lavender fields. Fantastic experience!
We had a great experience with Travis. It was the perfect combination of nature and food/wine. A great respite from downtown Portland.
Thank you very much for the review! Indeed this is our most highly rated tour that I have custom created and no other tour operator provides. How can you not enjoy nature, waterfalls, Hood River with breweries, lunch and a vineyard all in one day? It's truly the best tour option if you want to see the most in 8 hours.
Travis was great. He is very punctual. He provides great recommendations and has back up plans incase weather doesn't cooperate. We all had a great weekend. Thank you!
This tour is a must do. Alex was an amazing host and guide. We learned about the topography and history of the Gorge. It was a relaxing day with good eats and wine tasting. The hiking was perfect to see the waterfalls. Highly recommend all of our stops - Vista House, Doppio, South Hill Winery and Hood Creek Winery. Loved the live music at Hood Creek Winery, an added bonus.
We were in Portland for a conference, and decided to spend a day to see waterfalls and vineyards around northern Oregon. Hands down, Alex was the BEST driver and guide. We did so much more than anticipated!! The van was clean, the conversations were filled with laughter, and there was plenty of water provided for us to keep hydrated. Our group had the greatest adventure with so many memories made. I’m so glad I reached out to Willamette Valley Tour and highly recommend them planning your day!
Alex was the ultimate tour guide who was constantly making sure that the group was vibing and enjoying themselves to the fullest. We were able to visit 3 waterfalls, 2 wineries, a brewery and distillery in two states over 10 hours! He had our back and I can’t recommend him enough to anyone considering learning and exploring Oregon and Washington. Thank you for taking the best care of us Alex!!
We absolutely loved our tour in Oregon. Capped off a great week visiting Portland by getting out of town on this tour. Alex, our driver, had fantastic recommendations for tour stops, and he was flexible and adaptable on the tour when he got to know our group. We encountered a few setbacks along the way, but Alex made it a great experience.
