When you go to a place like the Van Gogh Museum, the easy thing is to just walk around and enjoy the stunning art on display and maybe glean a bit of extra knowledge from the information cards. Do this, and you are doing yourself a gross disservice. The guided tour gives you sooooo much more. Anna - our guide - was clearly passionate about Vincent, his life and his Art. Her knowledge and abilitly to articulate it into lay terms was exceptional. Anna's ability to explain the motivations and restraints of the times as well as Vincents complex philosophies which guided so much of this work into an easily understood form made this tour come alive. I learned so much more than I thought was possible about this misunderstood and intruiging artist. The venue was exceptional as a dedicated space for Vincent's work. The instructions on how and where to meet were accurate and easy to follow as well. Some might baulk at the price, but how much is it worth to understand the work and life of Vincent, when the story is told to you by an expert? You don't get this kind of interaction and information on your downloaded Audio Guide...Totally worth it. Thanks Anna 5 Stars
