Excellent experience from start to finish, very easy to find and board. The smaller boat felt more personal than the larger charter. Guide was good and gave some info and discussion as we were headed out. We had about 30-45:minutes where we had several whales around us. Met or exceeded our expectations.
We had luck locating some dolphins and a quick glimpse of a Minke whale. The star was a humpback that did some nice tail slapping and a breach. The boat is large, with bathrooms and snack area. Multiple levels to watch from. It was reasonably priced. The Captain and crew worked hard for the a good experience. The water got pretty rough which created stomach problems for many on board They do provide a link to the the photos they take. I would recommend this tour, lasts about 3-31/2 hours
Always wanted to see the whale's, good opportunity.we went along, very informative and knowledgeable.we weren't let down.had about 4or 5 sightings, superb.
Amazing, seen whales almost immediately, great guide, boat was great, not overcrowded, great layout, could get to a viewing point very easily, we would use this tour again,
The ship was nice and the crew friendly. We had very cloudy, cool weather, but that is Iceland. We saw a minke whale right at first then after two hours of searching we did see one humpback whale. It wasn’t fantastic, but seeing whales isn’t guaranteed.
Great experience. Unlike othet whale tours elsewhere, you will always get to see something. In the space of three hours we saw three different species, including humpback whales. This is a great value!
Good guide and we saw several small pods of whales, and some whales within 10-50 feet of the boat. It was a little discouraging at first because I was expecting more of a small boat experience and it was very crowded. But once we started seeing whales it was okay.
The trip was a huge experience, which one should not be without! We saw many whales and also larger flocks of sea parrot. The facilities and the boat were really nice - and it was quite luxury with a bar on board. But... The guide could not be called a guide. I don't know if he doesn't normally have it, or if he might have it so often that he got bored, but it was a very unsuspecting and unengaged guide. He told incredibly little about what we saw - and most of the time he was either quiet, or commented on whether you could see the tail or not at a diving. At one point, we asked him directly if he could tell us a little about the whale we looked at, and he replied: “there’s really nothing to tell.” It was incredibly disappointing. We learned more from a boat nearby where we could listen to their guide. Those who controlled the ship did not completely catch the whales in the same way as the neighboring boats, and at one point it sailed just past a whale and did not stop, even though we pointed out that there was one. It was a very cold and wet trip - so remember warm clothes, but it was all worth it because we after all saw lots of whales. The company disappointed us unfortunately. We wish we had got another guide or had chosen another company.
The overall experience was positive and the once underway it was great. The guide did a nice job explaining the whale species and what we may see. However, The instructions for checking in missed the fact the it is only a kiosk at the restaurant and no human to talk to. They need to have better instructions for folks who have to drive there for limited parking in that area and on the pier. You don’t see a crew member until you get to the boat, then it’s too late.
