Efter att ha hämtat på ditt hotell eller på din riad klockan 9:00 tar vi dig västerut till Volubilis, en gammal romerska stad som rymmer de viktigaste arkeologiska resterna av Marocko. I Volubilis får du ledig tid att besöka området. Vi lämnar dig hela tiden du behöver, vanligtvis mellan 1 och 2 timmar. Om du önskar, vid ingången till platsen kan du hyra en fransktalande officiell guide.
Efter att ha njutit av dessa imponerande romerska rester går du till Moulay Idriss, en av Marockos viktigaste pilgrimsfärdshus. Det är en liten stad med en vacker medina som du kan besöka på en timme.
Det tredje steget kommer att vara Meknes, den ödmjukaste av de fyra imperialistiska städerna Marocko. I Meknes har du ledig tid att äta och besöka de viktigaste platserna i staden, gå in i souken eller ta kaffe på torget. Klockan 18:00 kommer vi tillbaka till Fez. This site was one of our highlights. Literally translating to morning glory for the vines of climbing flowers, Volubilis was once a thriving town 10,000 strong, but it is now a 100 acre Roman Ruin. The aqueducts are in evidence (though the water source has long since dried up), and there are some moderately well preserved mosaics reminiscent of those in Pompeii (though nowhere as well preserved). Explorers of this site can wander around almost unrestricted, taking in the once grand homes and temples, not to mention the public meeting place and forum. Highly recommend this of you're visiting Morocco and it's a couple of hour drive from Casablanca.
