Du kommer att släppas av på Piazza Guglielmo II. Här kan du besöka den vackra katedralen i Monreale. Det har tagits med i listan över Unesco världsarv och anses vara en av de viktigaste medeltida kyrkorna i världen. Katedralens mosaiker är något helt enkelt unikt och perfekt. Det är också möjligt att, mot avgift, komma åt olika delar av katedralen, till exempel terrasserna. Intill katedralen ligger klostret San Benedetto. Klostret i klostret har en kvadratisk plan i romansk stil, kännetecknad av mer än 90 kolumner dekorerade med mosaik och romanska huvudstäder. I mitten av klostret finns en trädgård med en palmformad fontän från vars blad vattnet rinner. Även nära katedralen finns det intressanta stiftmuseet. Från Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II kan du se Duomo och beundra den berömda marmorfontänen som heter Fontana del Tritone. Missa inte Belvedere!
Resplanen för att se Cefalù börjar från Lungomare Giuseppe Giardina och följ den till början av Via Vittorio Emanuele, där husen börjar. Härifrån går du genom de små smala gatorna, de gamla husen, butikerna, restaurangerna och glassbarerna. Mitt i via Vittorio Emanuele ligger det medeltida tvätthuset som nås via en lavastenstrappa. Fortsätt bortom tvättstugan och anländer till Porta Pescara, en öppning där du kan se havet. Strax efter Porta della Pescara till vänster hittar du Piazza Marina med kajen i den gamla hamnen. Från den gamla hamnen kan du se den mest fascinerande delen av Cefalù: husen med balkonger direkt vid havet. Fortsätt på huvudgatan, Corso Ruggero, efter några meter kommer du att befinna dig på rådhusplatsen framför vilken du kan se katedralen i Cefalù. Förutom byn kan Cefalù skryta med en av de vackraste stränderna på Sicilien med vit sand och kristallklart vatten.

We saw two fantastic UNESCO sites on a day trip from Palermo: specifically, the mosaics at the 12th century cathedrals at Monreale and Cefalu, which were crafted collaboratively by Normans, Latins and Muslims. Also, got to explore the gorgeous streets and beaches of Cefalu, with time for a seaside lunch. Fabrice, our driver, was engaging and spoke fluent English. Terrific tour!

Our driver Sergio was very good. Monreale was pretty church with mosaics of the stations of the cross.
Monreale and Cefalu were great! Cefalu was exceptional with the beach, cathedral, and shopping/dining right by the sea. Mimmo was an excellent driver and very friendly who talked of the area and history along the way. The car was a Maserati which was clean and comfortable.

The operator failed to show up for our scheduled pickup. I tried to contact operator 3 times with no success. I called customer service with Viator who tried to contact operator. After waiting a full hour after the scheduled pickup, we gave up and asked Viator for a refund which we received 3 days later. Ruined our scheduled day in Sicily.

Sadly the Cathedral in Cefalu was closed when we arrived. Apparently it is closed each day from 1-3 and Viator and the driver should know this fact. We climb all the way to the cathedral only to be turned away as it was closed for daily siesta. Our driver, Michele, was not informative of the sites along the way as his English was not very good by his own admission. We ended the tour early because of it and so did not get our monies worth. Liked what we saw, but was not happy that Viator is misinformed about the temples and times they operate especially given the price we paid for the tour.
An excellent professional service from beginning to end. Francesco is a knowledgeable polite and helpful individual, his approach is completely flexible and relaxing, nothing is too much trouble. The car was immaculate, the journeys relaxing, the guide perfect.

Because I have some mobility issues, this was a great way to see Monreale. Plus driving in Palermo is sort of a nightmare, so to be able to glide through the chaos in an air conditioned Mercedes with a good drive: Perfetto! We had never been to the seaside of Cefalu was lovely. We had a walk along the Lungo Mare as well as gelato (and banana split!) in the Piazza di Duomo. Our driver was charming and helpful. Expensive but worth it for us!
Absolutely the most beautiful day from Palermo. Monreale and Cefalu are spectacular and not to be missed. Salvo, our driver, was fantastic. He was punctual, courteous and spoke good English. The cathedral in Monreale is breathtaking and Cefalu as picturesque in person as in the photos. We highly recommend this outing!
