Diving baptism with my daughter. The gentleman speaks French; he is very attentive. He came to pick us up at the hotel and dropped us off there again. He found us a great spot despite the wind with a beach departure. We saw plenty of fish, an octopus, sea urchins... He had prepared bottles of water for us in addition to all the equipment and even offered us a place to rinse off and change upon arriving at the beach. Very, very good experience.

The “diving baptism” Marmara version: 85 € for splashing in 1.30 m of water If you dream of a real diving baptism... run away. What Marmara and her local representative (Laura, at the Golden Coast Hotel) offer is a paid sketch: Visit a private house cobbled together as a “dive center”, 85 € per person, in cash (especially no trace, obviously), Blocks placed on the back of participants, without help, on a pebble beach, A monitor who takes two baptisms at the same time, zero security, And apotheosis: 4 minutes immersion in... 1.30 m of water. Not a fish, not a rock, just the feeling of getting pigeoned. When we dared to say our disappointment? The representative's icy response: “Only you are disappointed. Marmara is not responsible.” Translation: Marmara sells the business, collects the trust of customers... then washes her hands when we discover the trickery. In short, an “unforgettable experience”... but only as a model scam.

Nous comprenons votre déception, mais nous tenons à préciser que dans le cadre d’un baptême de plongée (Try Scuba), la profondeur maximale autorisée est de 5 mètres. Lors de votre sortie, vous étiez un groupe de quatre personnes. Deux d’entre elles n’étaient pas du tout à l’aise dans l’eau. Pour des raisons de sécurité absolue, il n’était donc pas possible de descendre plus bas qu’environ 2 mètres. Aller plus profond aurait représenté un risque sérieux pour ces participants. Notre priorité reste toujours la sécurité et le confort de chaque plongeur, même si cela signifie parfois que l’expérience est plus limitée. Cordialement, Dimitris Kanelakis
Demitrus was knowledgeable and patient. The equipment was heavy but he helped you get it on and off with ease. This was our first time scuba diving. The under water views weren’t like I had thought but it was still a great experience.

We had to meet up at their house and had some water and had to fill in some safety papers after that we went to the scuba spot and had a good explanation on how it works, Dimitris’ explanation was very good and he guided us good, we were there with one other couple and we didn’t go very very deep only 3-4 meters but for a first time it’s enough, overall a very nice experience.

He was a good and patient teacher and very pleasant. As was his wife who drove us to the beach. Once there he explained everything and took us step by step through our diving. The 45 minutes we spent under water was amazing! It just flew by. He showed us various sea creatures including urchins and a baby cuttlefish! I felt very comfortable and safe the whole time. I am excited to try again! Thank you!

Me and my sons (12 and 14) took the SSI open water course. Dimitris was great. Very knowledgeable and patient. We all learned a lot and enjoyed our time above and under water.

Dmitry was excellent & a very professional guide. He explained all the steps for diving & using the equipment very thoroughly. We enjoyed the I o Ean & he pointed out the anemones, nudibranch, & sponges. We appreciated his patience & kindness. He gave us a ride to our bus stop afterwards. We would recommend this tour for beginner divers.

Thank you for the relaxing, calm and interesting fun dive. Kanelakis took all the time we needed for the preparations and then drove us to the impressive dive spot. He knew exactly were the sea was at its calmest on this windy day. We saw lots of different fish and enjoyed the company of this experienced and confident guide. Highly recommendable!
