Pune är en stad med ett mycket rikt kulturarv som bäst upplevs under en rundvandring. I denna vandring besöker vi Shaniwarwada, det hemsökta fortet och maktsätet för Peshwas, den magnifika Lal Mahal byggd av Shivaji Maharajs far, Dagdu Sheth-templet av Lord Ganesh byggt av en söt mötesmakare, Kasba Ganpati vars idol installerades av Shivaji Maharaj och Laxmi marknadsför den populära basaren för fyndshopping.

Vi börjar vandringsturen på Shaniwar Wada, Peshwas maktsäte eller premiärministrarna i det mäktiga Maratha-riket som var en dominerande makt i Indien mellan 17 och 1900-talet. Detta palats byggdes 1730 till ära av Peshwa Bajirao Ballal Balaji Bhat för tjänster som gjordes till Maratha-riket. Shaniwarwada anses vara den mest hemsökta platsen i Pune! Dagdu Sheth, är ett tempel tillägnad Lord Ganesh och förmodligen den mest kända i Pune. En söt tillverkare som förlorade sin son till pesten byggde detta tempel 1892. Templet spelade en avgörande roll för att inspirera Lokmanya Tilaorganizeanise den årliga Ganesh-festivalen för att förena indianer för att kämpa för frihet från britterna.
Vi går genom Laxmi Market, tillflyktsort för shoppare! Vi besöker pittoreska butiker i den mest kända basaren och loppmarknaden i Pune. Det har lämpligt namngetts efter den hinduiska gudinnan av rikedom. 130 PM - Släpp av på Laxmi-marknaden.
Historien blir levande vid detta ikoniska tempel. Idolen från Ganesh installerades av ingen mindre än Shivaji Maharaj och hans mor Jija bai 1630. Templet är den presiderande gudomen i staden Pune och har privilegiet att den första nedsänkningen under Ganpati-festivalen.
Lal Mahal eller Röda palatset grundades 1630 av Shahaji Bhosle, far till Shivaji Maharaj. Det är känt för mötet mellan Shivaji Maharaj och Shaista Khan. Medan den ursprungliga byggnaden föll i ruiner, är den nuvarande byggnaden en rekonstruktion och har oljemålningar som skildrar viktiga händelser i Shivaji Maharajs liv.

Dhruv was such a great teacher. He tied in the geography of Pune with the history of its people, religion, architecture, food and so much more. He tailored the tour to my interests and was a master of dates and places. I had an amazing day and would 100% recommend this tour.
Excellent tour, Ajit was very friendly and gave in-depth descriptions of the significance of the places we toured. Nice way to understand some of the history of Pune.
Ajit was great—he was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the tour and it was a great introduction to Pune. I didn’t know when I signed up that I would have my own guide (I thought it would be a group tour) so that was a surprise. It was also nice to be picked up at my hotel since I had just arrived and didn’t know my way around yet.
Very interesting tour by Ajit, who has a huge wealth of knowledge about Pune and India’s history. He was very friendly and enthusiastic which kept us going, as we were tired from just arriving in Pune - thank you Ajit!
I enjoyed the cultural walking tour with Pankaj. He's very knowledge about the sites and history of the people and places that we are visiting. He introduced me to delicious snacks and drinks, he is communicative and on time. He even stayed behind to ensure that I got into the uber I ordered before we parted way. The forts & temples we visited are great example of the local history.

Loved our historical tour of Pune! It was especially great to learn about Shaniwar Wada, a place a couple of us had seen from the outside many times on our childhood visits to India. Ajit was very knowledgeable and answered all our Qs. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ajit. He is a highly knowledgeable guide and we learned a great deal during our visit. Our 'three hour' tour lasted longer than that, because we were extremely interested in what he was telling us and showing us. At the end we asked him to point us in the direction of a nice south Indian restaurant: Wadeshwar was a perfect conclusion to our morning. Highly recommended
Very nice experience. I really enjoyed the walking tour. I got a sense of central Pune and saw a lot of historical places. I really suggest this tour.
The tour was absolutely brilliant. Ajit sir was so passionate about these places in Pune that it rubbed off on us. He knew the history and told us everything from start to beginning while taking us through the tour. A genuine joy to take this tour. Made our pune trip sooo worth it.
