Tur till Mixquic Day of the Dead i Mexico City

Följ med oss på denna turné till staden Mixquic för att uppleva Day of the Dead-upplevelsen. Vi kommer att besöka stadens pantheon för att uppskatta utsmyckningen av gravarna, vi kommer att observera de erbjudanden som människor lämnar till sin avlidne och vi kommer att lära oss om de representationer som döden har haft i den mexikanska kulturen. Vi kommer att bevittna "Alumbrada", en tradition där pantheonet endast är upplyst av levande ljus. Vi kommer också att njuta av den stora Dead Fair full av musik, mat, spel och dans för att njuta av en så unik kväll. Guiderna är historiker, arkeologer, antropologer; omfattande kunskap om ämnet och med ett stort nöje att dela mexikansk kultur.

Vi avgår från vår mötesplats för att nå staden San Andrés Mixquic (2 timmars transfer). Väl framme i Mixquic kommer vi att besöka stadens pantheon, där guiden kommer att förklara för oss om platsens historia, traditionen för de dödas dag, de element som pryder gravarna, etc. Turen med förklaring inne i pantheon kommer att ta cirka 1 timme
I slutet av turnén kommer det att finnas ledig tid att turnera pantheonet efter besökarnas smak och strosa genom Fair of the Dead som äger rum i staden Mixquic. Besökare kommer att njuta av musik, spel, mat och dans. Fritiden i Mixquic kommer att vara cirka 3 timmar och 30 minuter. Vi åker tillbaka kl 21:00 till startpunkten (2 timmars transfer).

It is a very different experience; you live the culture of this day very closely. What my partner did not like is that it is a very invasive experience, which does not respect the privacy of the locals who are venerating their loved ones; however, I really enjoyed the experience. Keep in mind that there is not much mobile signal due to the number of people.
Excellent tour. Very organized and punctual. The way and times in which the tour is organized, is perfect to enter the cemetery with relative ease and enjoy the lighting and all the celebration in general. Highly recommended!!
This tour was incredibly well organized from start to finish, and our guide Ricardo made all the difference. Even though Mixquic was extremely crowded, Ricardo timed everything perfectly - he got us into the cemetery before sunset, gave us a background of the traditions, the church, the courtyard, and advised us to stay inside once we were in because the crowds would get so heavy that we might not find our way back in, which was absolutely the right call. Because of that, we were able to spend the whole evening inside the church and cemetery, surrounded by candles, flowers, families, and tradition. It was beautiful, emotional, and truly unforgettable. We also really appreciated the extra care at the end of the night - instead of dropping us off at the original meeting point, Ricardo arranged for the van to leave us much closer to our hotel so we wouldn’t have to walk late at night. Highly recommended tour, especially if you want a meaningful and smoothly organized Día de Muertos experience in Mixquic. Ricardo was fantastic!
This was an unforgettable experience! Our guide was Ricardo, and Ricardo was so great! It was a beautiful thing to experience the Alumbrada and also here some of the history.
The intervention of the guide Marisol was very good and made important efforts to give some explanations and guide us through the crowd without even having an identifying flag of the agency
Amazing experience to learn and understand a portion of the rich Mexican culture and their beliefs. A must do when in Mexico for the day of the dead!
