Mtskheta är en av de äldsta städerna i Georgien nära Tbilisi. Mtskheta var huvudstad i det tidiga georgiska kungariket Iberia från 300-talet f.Kr. till 500-talet e.Kr. Här accepterade georgierna kristendomen 317. Jvari-klostret är ett georgiskt-ortodoxt kloster från 600-talet nära Mtskheta. Den stora kyrkan representerar toppen av arkitektonisk typologi. Det är ett sant arkitektoniskt mästerverk från den tidiga medeltiden med utsikt över sammanflödet av floderna Aragvi och Mtkvari från toppen av kullen. I really enjoyed this tour to Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia. It was a beautiful and peaceful trip, and the place feels very special with its rich history and amazing views. The churches and historic sites were impressive, especially Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. The tour was well organized, comfortable, and not too tiring. Our tour guide, Nino, was wonderful — very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Georgian history and culture. She made the experience even more interesting and enjoyable. It was a great chance to learn more about Georgia while enjoying a calm atmosphere outside Tbilisi. I especially liked the panoramic views and the unique spiritual feeling of the city.
