Casa Carbonell, en modernistisk byggnad byggd på 1920-talet. Enligt legenden beställdes den av en textilindustrialist efter att ha blivit förödmjukad av sitt ödmjuka utseende när han anlände från Alcoy under en epidemi.
Alicantes rådhus, byggt på 1700-talet, är ett framstående exempel på valenciansk civil barock. Dess huvudfasad har två symmetriska torn som ramar in byggnaden. I det vänstra tornet finns klockan, som använder den romerska siffran "IIII" istället för den vanliga "IV", en vanlig konvention inom urmakeri som går tillbaka till historiska traditioner.
Tidigare var detta torg känt som Gallows Square, eftersom det var platsen där offentliga avrättningar ägde rum. Belägen intill den gamla muren och en av dess huvudportar, var det en strategisk punkt för att straffa befolkningen: avrättningar utfördes inför alla som gick in i eller ut ur staden.
Detta torg, tidigare känt som Plaza de las Barcas, har fått sitt nuvarande namn från den berömde författaren Gabriel Miró från Alicante, vars staty har stått där sedan 1929. Det är en plats med stort sentimentalt värde för Alicantes folk och en oas av skugga och lugn i hjärtat av staden.
Denna gågata har blivit känd för sin dekoration med stora färgglada svampar, ett konstnärligt ingrepp som har förvandlat den till en ikon för barn och fotografier.
Teatro Principal öppnade 1847 och är Alicantes kulturella hjärta. Dess neoklassiska fasad med joniska kolonner är en av stadens arkitektoniska ikoner.
Detta pittoreska område, inbäddat på sluttningarna av berget Benacantil, bevarar den moriska utformningen av smala gator, vitkalkade hus och branta trappor.
Det är stadens äldsta tempel, byggt på en gammal moské efter Reconquistan. Dess gotiska fasad och barocka detaljer vittnar om dess utveckling genom århundradena.
Beläget på toppen av berget Benacantil har detta slott varit en strategisk fästning sedan islamisk tid. Det är en av de största medeltida fästningarna i Spanien. Dess ursprung går tillbaka till 800-talet, under dominansperioden Muslim.
Plaza de España är en av Alicantes största öppna ytor, belägen alldeles intill Mercado Central. Det är ett livligt område, både på grund av dess kommersiella aktivitet och dess närhet till kulturinstitutioner och traditionella stadsdelar.
I samma område ligger den historiska tjurfäktningsarenan i Alicante, invigd 1847 och en av de äldsta i Valencia. Det har anordnats tjurfäktningsshower, konserter och populära evenemang. Även om dess användning har utvecklats är den fortfarande en byggnad av stor betydelse för stadsarvet.
Det är utgångspunkten för mascletàs under San Juans brasor. Tusentals människor samlas här varje juni för att fira Alicantes största festival.
Vid foten av slottet och intill den historiska stadskärnan är denna stadsstrand en av de mest kända i Valencia. Dess namn kommer från den gamla wicket gate (sekundärdörr) som förband staden med kusten. Idag är en perfekt plats att koppla av efter rundturen, med sin strandpromenad, palmer och lugna vatten.

Guide was good, nice friendly, saw some sights, only complaint is the tour on Viator said 1.5 hours and we were cut to 55 minutes. Seems they overbooked as they reached out early and tried to reschedule but we were in a cruise ship and could not.
Slightly disappointed. Firstly though, we couldn't fault the lady driver. Friendly, helpful and informative. Some very good historical titbits. However, it felt slightly underwhelming, perhaps because we are residents and knew a fair bit anyway. It covered the old town, new town, mushroom street, bullring, castle etc. Took 50 mins not 70 (maybe we didn't ask enough questions). The lady kindly altered our drop off point, which was appreciated. On the negatives, the tuktuk is not fantastically accessible if you have leg or knee issues. The tour commentary needed speakers really, rather than talking over road noise. And we didn't get our complementary water. Mixed review but on balance worth it for being something different.
Ride was nice but driver was too fast. Recommend to drive slower to appreciate the sites xxxxxxcxxxx

Too expensive for what it is, not worth it, very little explanation, the girl was nice but she hardly spoke Spanish, which was the option I chose when making the reservation... a brief tour of unimportant parts of Alicante, or at least that is how we felt due to the lack of explanation... the only thing I can highlight is passing by Zetas Street and knowing how to get to Santa Catalina Castle, which of course we went to afterward, because they only gave us 10 minutes and we could only reach the door where we asked... quality-price ratio 0.

Sinceramente, nos resulta difícil entender una valoración tan extrema cuando la mayor parte de sus críticas se refieren a expectativas que no forman parte del producto contratado. La ruta, la duración, las paradas y el carácter panorámico del tour están descritos con total claridad antes de reservar. Un recorrido en tuk tuk por Alicante no es una visita guiada de varias horas al Castillo de Santa Bárbara ni una excursión a pie por cada monumento de la ciudad. Pretender lo contrario es simplemente no haber leído la descripción de la actividad. 🖤🛺 También resulta sorprendente afirmar que hubo “nula explicación” mientras destaca varios lugares que descubrió durante el recorrido y que visitó posteriormente gracias a las indicaciones recibidas. Si realmente no hubiera existido explicación alguna, difícilmente habría obtenido esa información. Respecto al idioma, la guía realiza tours en español de forma habitual. Que su acento o forma de expresarse no haya sido de su agrado es una cuestión completamente distinta a afirmar que “casi no hablaba español”. Lamentamos que sus expectativas fueran diferentes a la experiencia contratada, pero el tour se realizó exactamente conforme a la descripción publicada y aceptada en el momento de la reserva. ☀️💨

The tour started off great . Dori our driver messaged me 10 minutes before expected time to explain where she was . The tour is really good , the tuk tuk was electric, so nice and quiet. She took us around the city and all the time pointing out interesting things with a commentary too . We even went up to the castle for 15 minutes which was good for photo opportunities. All in all a great way to see the city . Thanks Dori, you were fab .

Our driver was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule throughout the trip. Dropped us at cruise port entrance so we didn’t have to fight traffic and bus ride.
