Om du kommer från Santa Marta möter guiden dig vid busshållplatsen och du fortsätter med den reguljära resplanen.
I den här turen kommer en guide att hämta dig på en motorcykel, som kommer att vara din transport för en del av turen. Sedan kommer du att göra en vandring på 40 minuter genom den omgivande skogen Palomino. Där ger guiden dig en kort lektion om områdets flora och fauna. Och om du har tur, och himlen är tillräckligt klar, kommer du att kunna se de två viktigaste topparna i Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta: Simon Bolivar och Colon. När du är klar tar du dina flytande däck och flytvästar nedströms Palominofloden. Det kommer att finnas en del forsar på denna rutt, men du kommer också att njuta av att gå nerför floden bland naturen. Slutligen kommer du till Palominoflodens mynning, den exakta platsen där den möter Karibiska havet.
Om turen startar från Santa Marta, är returen vid 15:30 från busshållplatsen, så att du har lite tid att utforska Palomino på egen hand eller njuta av stranden.

Great trip, no fault of the tour but the river was very murky due to recent rain falls. Very well looked after and they were just 2 of us, so it was very informative. The only reason I knocked off 1 star is because I contracted both Weils disease and Dengue Fever. Wear loads of mozzies spray, and do not walk around barefoot

We absolutely loved this tour! Everything was as described and Luis was so great and helpful every step of the way, from being responsive on Whats App helping me to figure out the transport from Tayrona ( we took the public bus to meeting point in Palomino which was super easy), to carrying my tube for me while on the moto-bike ride. Moto-bike ride was super fun, the hiking portion was also great, along with the tubing. We ended with a great lunch at the spot where the tubing ended on the Caribbean in Palomino afterwards, before our moto-bike ride back to where we had to meet the bus. This tour was the perfect mix of adventure, beauty and relaxation. Tubing down the river was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. We brought a couple beers with us to enjoy on the river which was nice, but there was also a guy set up in the middle of the hike selling drinks and snacks that you can purchase that stuff from. Our group consisted of just us and one other couple who by the end of the day we felt like we had made new friends in both them and Luis. Luis also took some great pictures of us throughout the tour which I always appreciate. Such a great day! I highly recommend doing this exact tour with this company.

For those who want to make this descent in February 2026, know that the river is higher than normal with all the rain they have received. The minimum would be to know how to swim, because there are no flotation jackets provided and the current is strong. But everything went well for our group, the small rapids were appreciated by all! Bring mosquito repellent and water, as there is a good climb to do before the river.

Great, very relaxing experience with clean explanation from Jaïr, our tour guide. We also went with Jaïr to the Tayarona parc, where he showed us around. We recommend Jaïr as a great, wide experienced tour guide for the area!

Superb family activity. Getting there by motorbike from our hotel pick-up is an activity in itself. A short walk along the path to get to the river (we sweat big drops) and then let yourself drift on the river through the mountains and its breathtaking landscapes. Arrival is by the sea where you can enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant on the beach. Many thanks to our guide Super Mario for his dynamism and all his explanations about the fauna, flora and local customs.

Our tubing guide, David, was wonderful. Kind, careful and fun. The tubing bit was peaceful and relaxing. A few words of advice: it's a long day out (7am - 5.30pm) and having a Spanish speaker in your group would be helpful. An email with practical advice on what to bring, what to wear, schedule etc would have been appreciated. We were quite confused at times as to what was going on! Also be warned, the trip involves mototaxis which are exhilarating but not for the nervous traveller! Overall a great day out!

Our guide arranged for the pick-up from our hotel, a jeep brought us as far as possible and then we walked for 25 mn in the forest before reaching the river. We then went down the river for 2 hours. Our guide, Davide, was very friendly and indicated spots where kids could jump off and swim. The river is very safe and it was a very peaceful experience.
