What a fun experience!! The hosts are attentive and informative. They offer 7 different types of wood and explain how each is used commonly in Japan. The hosts even make recommendations on the wood based upon ease/difficulty of carving. There is one wood for free, the rest range from ¥ 2000 - 5000. Bonus* they had room and let me join even after I showed up a day early for my session. TY Yuna, Kaito and Hidenori
Such a wonderful experience! The team walked us through the different types of wood, their meaning and history. And then we began - picking and refining our wood down to chopsticks. Then sanding them smooth, and choosing our names in the various languages and laser-engraving them onto our chopsticks. We were really excited to do this activity as a family, but I can genuinely say it even beat those high expectations. We will never forget this, every time we use our sticks!
