Truffle hunting with a dog is an amazing experience and this was truly authentic. Michele and his dog go out every day and some days he takes people like us along with him. His dog found 5 truffles on our trip and Michele then cooked them and served them with pasta and wine in his own home. This is as far away from corporate tourism as it gets and 100% recommended.

Words can’t describe the joy of finding truffles with a professional truffle dog and amazing kind guide like Michelle, this is a joyful and personal experience outside the touristic clechés and into the real Italian experience.

Michael and Aika (his dog) picked us up from our hotel and led us on an incredible adventure in the Verona countryside. Yes, there are truffles that Aika skillfully finds but you are wandering the countryside and the trappings offered. IE in the summer we had bay, cherries and figs. Wear sneakers and be prepared for a light hike. Afterward you eat at a local restaurant and eat the harvested truffles and make some new friends. Recommended.

We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend the truffle hunt! We were two adults and a 5-year-old boy, and it was a fun and memorable activity for all of us.

Some steep walking on loose stones you are in the woods. Be prepared to walk on uneven terrain. About 1 hour walking. Well worth it. A wonderful experience and lunch incorporates truffles found on the tour.

We had a great afternoon spent with Michele and his "golden goose," Aika, the truffle whisperer. Aika is a special purebred Italian lagotto romagnolo truffle dog with more than 10 years of experience. To locate the black truffles, we ambled along a mountainside dirt road located on a gentle incline just above a picturesque vineyard. Aika found truffles in no time! We ended up with a couple of dozen black truffles, several of which were the size of a golf ball. After about an hour, we drove to a 250-year-old restaurant where our truffles were generously shaved tableside onto our pasta lunch. This was followed by more truffles shaved onto a fried egg -- supposedly the ultimate way that truffle connoisseurs enjoy their harvest. It was great being outdoors, and great disproving all the naysayers who whined that "mid-May is not truffle season." We definitely proved them wrong in a big way! This was a relatively easy excursion that almost anyone can do. We took videos while Aika did all the work. I would recommend this tour with Michele to all of our friends, and we would do it again if we pass through the area in the future.

Book this! Michael and his dog, Aika, were a pleasure to spend the day with. Walking through the woods was such a peaceful experience after so much time being spent in noisy cities. And the meal at a local restaurant was the best meal of our entire trip! It was a lovely day of beautiful views, great company, well-paced walking and learning, and was definitely a highlight of our trip. Such a unique experience.

A great experience with small hikes with Michele and Aika, who led us to finding a variety of 6 different truffles. It was a beautiful day in Verona and the countryside that ended in a lovely meal at a local restaurant with new friends and the taste of the truffles that we had found! Michele was funny, knowledgeable, and even gave helpful suggestions of what to see during the rest of our time in Verona.

One of the most memorable experiences. We got to hunt for truffles with Ika and Michele, see some of the countryside, and eat delicious pasta and gnocchi with the truffles we picked. Would highly recommend this
