Base Torres-vandringen är en av de mest populära gruppguidade turerna som finns tillgängliga i Puerto Natales, ett perfekt alternativ för resenärer som bara har en dag på sig att turnera Torres del Paine men som inte vill missa den otroliga utsikten över Mirador Base Torres. Denna turné erbjuds året runt. Även på vintern uppmuntras många resenärer att vandra till utsiktsplatsen (för vinterturer används stegjärn för att säkerställa säkerheten för gruppen på upp till 15 personer). Utöver transport och bergsutrustning inkluderar turen en professionell guide och en assistent, så alla resenärer kommer att åtföljas, oavsett vilken hastighet du går.

Svårighetsgrad: Mellan - 12.43 mi - 20 km (8 timmar) - Starthöjd: 295 ft över havet (90 m) - Högsta höjd: 2855 ft över havet (870 m) - Turen börjar med upphämtning vid ditt boende och beroende på var du befinner dig anländer vi för att hämta dig mellan 06:30 och 07:00. Efter att gruppen är samlad kommer vår guide att ge oss vandringsstavar och informera oss om turen, speciellt täcker vandringen till Base Torres. Vi beger oss sedan till Torres del Paine nationalpark. Under vintersäsongen är grupper små, med en guide för varje 4 resenärer. Under sommarsäsongen kan grupper ha upp till 21 personer, med en guide för varje 6 resenärer att anpassa sig till olika promenader. På så sätt är alla deltagare alltid med. Det är vanligt att mindre grupper på 7–10 personer bildas längs rutten, vilket ger en mer personlig upplevelse.
Efter den två timmar långa resan med bussen kommer vi fram till nationalparkens ingång via Porteria Amarga Sector. Från det ögonblick vi går in i parken kommer vi att njuta av den imponerande utsikten över Torres del Paine.
Vid denna tidpunkt börjar du vandringen till Hostería Las Torres Sector. På en resa på cirka fyra timmar korsar vi Ascensiodalen och går genom den mysiga Lengaskogen. Vi kommer också att se Almirante Nieto Hill från flera perspektiv medan vi tar oss fram. I slutet av det här avsnittet klättrar vi en glaciärmorän (stenig stig med en brant sluttning), tills vi når vårt mål, Base Torres Viewpoint.
Med dessa otroliga vyer kommer vi att äta lunch, ta bilder och ta oss ner till den lilla stranden som bildas av sjön. Rör vid dess vatten och förundras över den fantastiska utsikten från stranden. Efter detta stopp kommer hela gruppen att mötas och påbörja nedstigningen, denna del är cirka tre timmar. Pendelbussen tar oss sedan tillbaka till Puerto Natales. Mellan 20:00 och 21:00 anländer bussen till vårt boende och avslutar denna dag full av vandring, spänning och minnen vid basen av Torres del Paine.

This is a unique experience and, without a doubt, the best I have ever experienced. It is important to consider that it is highly conditioned by the climate. The guide was transparent from the outset and offered an appropriate service for this type of expedition, which helps minimize risks.

Great communication with the guides from the moment we booked, through pick‑up, and all the way until we were back at the hotel. The scenery was stunning from beginning to end. We enjoyed sunshine for the first four hours, followed by the classic Patagonian mix of clouds and rain — still absolutely beautiful. This guided tour/trek was a great way to hike Base Torres! Pablo and Sebastian were fantastic guides- knowledgeable and patient. It’s a tough hike, especially the last hour, even as someone who works out and runs regularly. I almost gave up with 30-40 minutes to go, but so glad I finished as the views were amazing. The descent was nearly as tough but well worth the pain!

I'm gonna start by saying that Viator needs to change this to a difficult level of hike. If you have any sort of ankle or knee issues, stay away. The view, the hike, all worth it. And our experience may be very dependent on the tour guide we had. Despite having ample time, the whole experience felt rushed, and there was little regard for the physical fitness level of the people hiking (we were a very small group of 4). Even after arriving to the top in a relatively quick pace, we were rushed down the mountain, not only making it dangerous, and painful, but also not really allowing us to take ok the views or take pictures. Carlos was nice but his music ok the morning was incredibly loud (before 7am) and we just didn't feel like he wanted us to enjoy the experience and it was more about getting it done. We were back at our hotel by 6:30 pm. Which really surprised us since he said we'd be back to the national park parking lot around 7 pm.
