Thank you so much!! Arigatou gozaimashita!! We are alos happy to meet you!! Have a nice trip and See you again!!
We are so grateful to the lovely Yukari and Kaori for giving us the opportunity to have this fantastic experience. We arrived by cruise ship, and the shop (located within the beautiful Dejima Museum) was a 10-minute walk away. After paying our museum entrance fee, they showed us where the shop was. We were able to choose from beautiful kimonos and obis, as well as matching fans, bags, and parasols. Our hosts styled our hair and dresses (no need to bring anything) and accompanied us inside some of the museum rooms to take photos. They also allow us to go out into the streets. We highly recommend it!
Thank you for your warm and fantastic comment!Arigatou Gozaimasu!! We are also happy to meet you!! We love you!!! by Kaori & Yukari Dejima Hoppen
A wonderful experience and a lot of fun. The two ladies who worked in the hire shop were so lovely and helpful and made the experience special. We could then go outside to look around the rest of the museum dressed in our kimonos. The Japanese schoolchildren visiting were intrigued to see us dressed up and were asking to take our photos - so polite I must say when my friend said she wanted to do this I agreed reluctantly but we ended up having the best time.
Thank you very much for experiencing the kimono rental at Dejima Hoppen. I understand you even ventured outside of Dejima while wearing them; I would be delighted if this became a wonderful memory of your trip. I believe kimonos possess a magical charm that captivates people. Please convey my thanks to your friends as well. Thank you again!
Yukari did a wonderful job helping me select the perfect kimono...I was very pleased with the end result. She and her assistant dressed me, and that was way more involved than I anticipated. There are several layers individually cinched around your rib cage before the obi belt (for women - for men the belt sits more at the waist). So...bad posture is not possible while wearing your kimono. Breathing may seem difficult at first if you aren't used to abdominal breathing. You will get used to it after a little while. I highly recommend the parasol, as the sun can be very hot - it made a noticeable difference. We felt like we were part of the culture.
Thank you very much for using Dejima Hoppen. We strive to ensure that the kimono dressing is beautiful yet comfortable—never constricting. I was delighted to hear that you enjoyed strolling around Dejima with the umbrella. Arigatou Gozaimasu!! By Yukari
This exceeded all our expectations, you pay extra for entry into Dejima, but that in itself is a great experience as it’s an old Dutch trading area for you to walk around. We were 2 couples doing this. The ladies were so helpful with every aspect of the dressing up, they then did a photo shoot for us. We were allowed to borrow the garments for several hours, but we were quite content to just wander outside to the walled garden for more photos. It was a fantastic experience and well worth doing
Thank you very much for choosing our kimono experience. Dejima is a special historical site featuring reconstructions from the Edo period, so an admission fee is required. I am delighted to hear that this became a wonderful memory of your trip.
I absolutely loved this experience. The ladies in the shop were amazing at dressing us and doing my hair. I'm amazed I managed to persuade my husband but he loved it too. Could have used all day but only downside was walking in traditional shoes, they really hurt!
Thank you very much for trying out the kimono experience at Dejima Hoppen. I am sorry to hear that the footwear was uncomfortable; I apologize for not noticing sooner. I truly hope the experience became a wonderful memory for you.
A fantastic experience with my friend Marie - all the staff was so friendly and helpful, we both loved the Geisha costumes and all the accessories were amazing - highly recommended
Thank you very much for visiting Dejima Hoppen. We are very happy to meet you! and You said, highly recommended!!! Thank you!!
We stopped by Dejima Hoppen during our cruise excursion in Nagasaki, and honestly, it ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We’d heard rave reviews about this kimono rental shop, so even though we were in a hurry, we slipped away from our tour group and decided to see if we could make it work—a quick rental and maybe a few photos. We had barely an hour before we needed to get back to our bus, so the clock was ticking. The woman working there couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. She saw our tight schedule and jumped right into action, whisking Mary Ellen to the back. It was wild how fast and meticulous she was—she styled Mary Ellen’s hair beautifully, dressed her in a gorgeous kimono, and then found a perfectly coordinated outfit for me. Once we were ready, she brought us outside and pointed out the best photo spots on the island. She took dozens of photos with my phone, posing us in cool outdoor locations and classic Japanese indoor backgrounds. All of this in just 45 minutes—she seriously worked magic. That left us 15 minutes to shop and we made it back to the bus without a minute to spare. Honestly, the rest of our tour group looked a bit jealous when they saw us dressed up and snapping photos. Huge thanks to Dejima Hoppen for being so accommodating and making our rushed visit unforgettable.
Thank you very much for visiting Dejima Hoppen. We are truly grateful that you chose to spend your precious time in Nagasaki—during your cruise ship's port call—here at Dejima. We hope you will visit Nagasaki again someday.
We had a great experience from beginning to end. The ladies working there were so helpful and friendly. They allowed you to choose your own kimono and Samarai colour but were willing to help if needed. Both ladies were so warm and welcoming, so polite and went out of their way to make sure you had a wonderful experience. We arrived early than our appointment and it was so problem. Dejima was not crowded that day. There's a beautiful area in the building for photos and some areas including a little bridge outside where you can take photos. It was a truly great experience.
Thank you for come to Dejima Hoppen. We are happy to meet you! You know about Dejima's good location. Thank you for kindly comment. Arigatou gozaimasu!!
