They were very punctual when passing me, very cordial and attentive the guide. If you like history and nature, it is a good option, we start the tour of a cane ejido and finish at the Hacienda el paraiso, where Jorge Isaacs was inspired to write the novel Maria

This tour covered both the cultural and romanticized aspects of a historical sugar cane family as well as the amazing natural beauty of the original plantation grounds. The Museo de la Cana has a fascinating construction of water works throughout the gardens coupled with a vast variety of flora and demonstration areas of various regional means of extracting the sugar product. Best part of the tour. The break for open air lunch near the Hacienda El Paraiso was very pleasant. The Hacienda El Paraiso was much smaller and was essentially a display of the family home and about the family story. Our guide, Claudia was extremely knowledgeable about the family stories as well as the function of the plantation and the surrounding flora.
