Morgon kommer du att hämtas från ditt hotell i Chennai. Ta bort din dag med att utforska Marina Beach, Chennais kulturella centrum av Mylapore Kapaleeshwar Temple och San Thome basilikan, följt av en traditionell sydindisk lunch i en lokal restaurang och besöka helgedomen på Ramakrishna Math , följt av ett besök i 1700-talet Fort Saint George innan du återvänder till ditt hotell.

Gå på Marina Beach, längs den 3 km långa huvudsträckan av Marina Beach och du kommer att passera cricket-matcher, flygande drakar, förmögenheter, fiskmarknader, corn-roasters och familjer som njuter av havsbrisen.
Vi besöker en unik klosterorganisation som heter Ramakrishna Math, tillägnad Sri Ramakrishna 1800-talets helgon. Gäster kommer att få se det universella templet, helgedomen, en vacker Mantapam, ett multimedia museum och ett förtrollande bibliotek.
Fort St George är den första engelska fästningen byggd 1644 av East India Company. Vi kommer att besöka St Marys Church, Indiens äldsta anglikanska kyrka. Vår kulturella evangelist tar dig till ett pittoreskt museum som är rik på relikter i kolonialtiden och återger historien om hur det östindiska företaget morphed från ett handelsföretag till linjalen i Indien!
Vi går mot Mylapore, ett gammalt bostadsområde i Chennai vars historia går tillbaka till romartiden då det brukade byta peppar och fint tyg med Rom mot guld! Vi besöker det magnifika Kapaleeshwar-templet. Detta tempel byggdes på 700-talet och är tillägnat Lord Shiva. Den är byggd i dravidisk stil och har en hög "Gopuram". Gästerna kan förvänta sig en fascinerande upplevelse av ritualer och lugn inne i templet. Vår kulturevangelist kommer att avmystifiera händelserna i templet!
Detta är ett tempel tillägnat Sai Baba, den store mystikern som förenade hinduer och muslimer och predikade om universell kärlek och broderskap. Templet är byggt med vit marmor och har en lampa som har tänts i mer än 100 år
Vi kommer att utforska minnesmärket för Swami Vivekananda som var en stor filosof. Hans tal i World's Parliament of Religions som hölls i september 1893 gjorde honom känd som en talare av gudomlig rätt och som en budbärare av indisk visdom till västvärlden. På måndagar är det stängt och vi besöker Egmoremuseet istället.
Vi besöker den berömda San Thome-basilikan, huvudkyrkan i det romersk-katolska ärkestiftet Madras och Mylapore. Vi kan se reliker av St Thomas här. Det är en av endast tre kyrkor i världen som har byggts på en apostelgrav. De andra två är Peterskyrkan i Vatikanen och katedralen Santiago de Compostela i Spanien.

We had a nice private day tour of Chennai city with tour guide Rajesh. He gave a great intro to city and sites. Ended the day with shopping areas as well. We enjoyed it very much. Worth day tour.

Really good tour around the major sites, our guide was very friendly and helpful but English and explanations could have been a bit better and more expansive. Good driver, felt very safe.

Comfortable travelling Our guide, Venkat, was extremely pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and a joy to spend time with.
