Det tog över grossistverksamheten från den åldrande Tsukiji-marknaden och ger turister en möjlighet att observera marknadens händelser och äta på restauranger i dess stora, moderna lokaler.
Resterna av Edo-slottets huvudtorn, trädgårdar med säsongsbetonade blommor som rosor, bambu, körsbärsblommor, teträd, fruktträdgårdar av klassiska arter och andra omger gräsmattan. Är en rymlig, vidsträckt trädgård i centrala Tokyo. Det är den enda delen av det inre palatset som är öppet för allmänheten.
Det är ett av Tokyos mest färgstarka och populära tempel. Legenden säger att två bröder år 628 fiskade upp en staty av Kannon, barmhärtighetens gudinna, ur Sumidafloden, och även om de satte tillbaka statyn i floden kom den alltid tillbaka till dem. Följaktligen byggdes Sensoji i närheten för gudinnan Kannon. Templet stod färdigt 645, vilket gör det till Tokyos äldsta tempel.
Det är centrum i Tokyo Skytree Town i Sumida City Ward, inte långt från Asakusa. Med en höjd på 634 meter (634 kan läsas som "Musashi", ett historiskt namn på Tokyo-regionen), är det den högsta strukturen i Japan och var den näst högsta i världen vid tiden för dess färdigställande. Ett stort shoppingkomplex med ett akvarium ligger vid basen.

Had a 10 hour layover in Tokyo so decided to book a tour with Xplorjapan ( process is seamless via WhatsApp) and requested Ryu Fuse as my guide/driver who was highly recommended by my sister in law. By the time I arrived at Haneda , Ryu was already there and patiently waited for me as I changed for the colder weather of Tokyo compared to Manila and Bangkok. He drove a Toyota Alphard so I did bring my carry on to the minivan instead of putting it in a locker. Fir this time of the year, naje sure to bring gloves and hat because by noon , the wind picked up. Ryu is very fluent in English so I had fun talking to him during rides between sights and he was quite knowledgeable about the history of each destination. Since I am by myself , he was kind enough to take my pictures except for the couple of places ( Shibuya and portion of Senso-ji Temple) where he had to stay with the van. My impressions- Shibuya and Skytree were OK since I live only 4 hours away from New York City. Anamori had the Torii gates which I wanted to see and it inspires me to want to see the original ones in Kyoto. I would go back and spend more time in Senso- ji. Others were turned off by the somewhat commercialized main street infront of the temple but I love the vibrant energy of it including the side streets. The crowd was mostly locals and loved seeing some of them in their kimonos. It gave me a little insight into the real Japanese lifestyle/culture( food) with some help also from Ryu. The last destination was another super crowded area, the Harujuku/Takeshita Sts. Saw a few young people in cosplay.. A must see but once is enough. Ryu dropped me off at Haneda with enough time to get through the super crowded security check- in and make it to my gate with time to relax before boarding. I have been to European and Middle East cities and none compare to Tokyo in its cleanliness!!! I was glad I booked this Tokyo tour with Xplorjapan and had Ryu as my guide, instead of hanging around the terminal.

Ryu, our driver/guide was excellent and professional in every way. Each place/landmark we stopped at, he tells the history of the place. He also gives recommendations of the best place to eat local traditional Japanese food. Ryu was Super helpful. He is also great at taking photos, we like all the pictures he took of us. We enjoyed chitchatting with him and highly highly recommend him. We will be specifically ask for Ryu on our next trip back to Tokyo. Thank you Ryu! It was such a pleasure to meet you.
