Den lilla staden Orta San Giulio är en av de främsta destinationerna för turister som besöker vår region. En favoritplats för romantiska själar, byn är en labyrint av pittoreska gator och små torg med hantverksbutiker, antikaffärer och livliga kaféer. I centrum av staden hittar du Piazza Motta, pulserande hjärta av byns liv, från vilken förbindelserna till ön San Giulio börjar. Det har utsikt över Broletto eller gemenskapens palats (på fasaden kan du beundra stadskammen), där på medeltiden makten utövades. Framför Broletto börjar en uppförsbacke som heter 'Motta', från vilken du når kyrka Santa Maria Assunta (1485).
Orta pärla är ön San Giulio: Den lilla ön San Giulio domineras av sin romanska basilika. Från kyrkan kan du gå längs den smala gatan som går runt hela ön: "Tystnad och meditation". Vi kommer att besöka San Giulio Island och den vackra kyrkan med den medeltida prekestolen.

Very nice and typical village, with beautiful views of the lake, many places for lunch and even some hotels , but also very touristy

Guilia was very receptive to questions and extremely knowledgeable. She was also very flexible and figured out what we had seen and learned and was able to reshape her tour so that what we learned was new to us. She was sensitive to our kids' needs as well. The village, lake and island were fantastic. Car in the parking garage, walking along the path where the cars reached the village, we could easily go down. The squares, the shops in the old buildings were nice. On the water there are plenty of terraces and restaurants for a stop with an amazing view of the island. A monastery is located here. Don't expect too many terraces, but the basilica is beautiful. The regular ferries will take you there quickly or take an expensive taxi boat with a group.
Giulia was very knowledgeable of the history and share a few stories regarding the saints and the families that lived during 15th & 16th centuries. She also recommended places to visit outside of Orta San Giulio that we were interested in exploring.
What about orta san giulio. A country among the most beautiful in Italy. You can visit its alleys, stop to eat or quench your thirst take a boat ride to the island san giulio which is right in front, climb and visit the sacred mountain with its churches and views then descend to Villa crespi take the train and return to the parking
