Vi börjar vår resa med en smak av chorreadas, en traditionell costaricansk majs "hälld" tortilla serveras färsk från en gatuförsäljare. Det är den perfekta introduktionen till regionens smaker.
Vårt nästa stopp innehåller den ikoniska caldosan, en unik blandning av knapriga majschips toppad med Costa Ricansk ceviche. Denna klassiska gaturätt är ett måste!
Njut av Jacós skönhet när vi promenerar längs stranden och förundras över levande väggmålningar och offentlig konst i området. Detta stopp ger oss möjlighet att insupa det naturliga och kulturella landskapet.
På torsdagar besöker vi den lokala bondemarknaden, där du kan utforska färska råvaror, hantverksvaror och den pulserande atmosfären i Jacós samhällsliv.
Efter promenaden stannar vi till vid en annan leverantör för att njuta av en chiliguaro – en eldig costaricansk shot gjord på lokalt hembränt, chile och Tabasco.
Koppla av på en charmig, lokalt ägd strandrestaurang. Här njuter vi av uppfriskande drycker och skaldjursrätter tillagade med den färskaste lokala fångsten.
För dem som inte kan få nog av denna djärva costaricanska dryck, kommer vi att göra ett andra stopp för en annan twist på chiliguaron.
På en lokal favoritbar kan vi smutta på en klassisk Michelada – en uppfriskande ölbaserad drink – och njuta av en rejäl chifrijo, en smakrik blandning av chicharrones (krispigt fläsk) och frijoles (bönor).
Vi avslutar med en söt ton med ett besök hos en älskad dessertförsäljare för Churchill, en glass från Costa Rica med lager av kondenserad mjölk, rakad is och fruktpålägg.
Under hela turen kommer jag att dela med mig av insikter i Jacós geografi, historia, kultur och konst, samt personliga anekdoter och berättelser om staden. Längs rutten lyfter jag fram offentlig konst, viktiga byggnader, autentiska restauranger och de bästa presentbutikerna för unika, lokalt tillverkade souvenirer.

Great tour to good food spots I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own. It inadvertently ended up being a private tour, and Josue was great at telling me not only more about Jack but Costa Rica in general. Despite it being just the two of us, I had a great time and learned a lot. Would recommend for solo travelers and groups alike.
Josue was great and very knowledgeable of the history and foods. Took us on a great tour with great food! Definitely recommend doing at the beginning of your trip so you know all the good places. 10/10
I had an amazing experience on this food tour with Josué! The food, drinks, and desserts were all fantastic - every stop was a treat. What really set this tour apart was the historical perspective Josué wove into the experience. Learning the stories behind the food and the culture made every bite more meaningful. We had a wonderful time on the Costa Rica food tour with Josue. He went above and beyond with showing us some of the best food spots in Jaco but also with being extremely knowledgeable about the culture, history, animals, and any questions we had about the country in general. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting town. The only regrettable part was that we did this tour on our last day and he gave so many local food recommendations that we will have to save for next trip!
Let me start off by saying my tour guide Josue was the best. He was very pleasant, funny and knowledgable. He convinced me to drink beer which I hate! He was delightful and easy to talk to. He told me about the many murals that are painted around town including the one of the direct descendant of Pastor Diaz. The tour itself is ideal especially if you're open to trying new foods. I had caldosas at Picarita's, patacones, which are DELICIOUS (can't remember the name of the place) and beer randon at Amudio's and a Winston Churchill! This is a walking tour so be advised if you have any conditions.

I had a really great time on the Jacó Food Tour with Josue. He was on time, super knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. You can tell he knows the area really well, and I learned a lot about Jacó while trying some really good local food. I liked that it wasn’t just about the food, it was also a walking tour around downtown. He pointed out different places around town, shared local recommendations, and we even stopped in a souvenir shop, which was a nice little addition. We also ended the tour with dessert, which I wasn’t expecting and thought was a fun surprise. The whole experience felt like a great value for the price. There was plenty of food, and I left feeling like I got to experience much more of Jacó than I would have if I had explored on my own. I was traveling solo from the U.S. and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Josue was friendly, laid-back, professional, and made the tour feel really easy and enjoyable. I had such a wonderful with the guide Josue. He is very knowledgeable of local Jaco history, culture and the food. I learned so much about the cuisine and history while i was on this food tour with Josue. The foods are so tasty as well! I won’t be able to discovery those dishes on my own if it’s not for Josue. Josue is very friendly and approachable. I can tell he really enjoys touring and guiding people and teaching Jaco history. The portion of the food/drinks are perfect. Highly recommend this if you are in Jaco. Come hungry!
