Tanzania Luxury Safari

Savannah is a very good travel agency — it offers competitive prices, also has WeChat customer service for Chinese tourists, and has a great team of guides. Isaac is an excellent guide: friendly, reliable, hardworking, and a very steady driver. He understood our needs, and we are truly grateful that with his help we saw so many animals — three leopards, ten rhinos, as well as many lions and cheetahs. We basically saw almost every animal! We really wish Isaac all the best in his future work, and we hope you will be our guide again the next time we come to Tanzania.

Amazing week, visited Tarangire park, Manyara park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We had the chance to spot the big five with our great guide and driver John. We saw so many animals, lions, hyenas, elephants, zebras, giraffes, leopards, wild cats, baby animals… the list goes on. The natures varied much from each place and everytime we were left without words. Just beautiful. The trip was well organized and the logdes were top. Friendly staff everywhere. We would love to come back.

The 5-day safari took in all the most important national parks in Tanzania: Serengeti, Tarangire, Ngorongoro...to discover the big5!! Our guide Moody (who speaks great Italian!) has always been courteous and attentive to our every request, professional and with a high driving experience always ensuring safety, cleanliness, versatility and maximum comfort!! We dived into the Tanzanian savannahs with extreme enthusiasm, watching lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, buffaloes and even the very rare black rhinoceros! We stayed in beautiful lodges surrounded by plants and vegetation typical of the area, equipped with a swimming pool and a very welcoming dining area and managed by staff always ready for every need... an unforgettable trip!! JAMBO!!

Savannah Explorers provided an experience that went beyond our expectations, and I know that it wouldn’t have been possible without our wonderful tour guide Thomas (aka Uncle T). Thomas did everything he could to make our experience that much better. He made us feel special and treated us like his friends while still being professional. Safari tiring but full of great sightings and satisfactions, in places we had heard so much about but without being able to understand the extraordinary uniqueness if not visiting them in person. Wow where to begin! Tom and I had the pleasure of being looked after by savannah explorers for 5 days on a luxury safari for our honeymoon. We’ve never been to Tanzania before but we fell in love instantly! Before I talk about the safari and booking process I want to firstly commend and praise Modi our tour guide/ driver/ teacher/ friend for the most incredibly experience. He was kind, caring & such a gentlemen! His true love and passion for all things Africa and Nature shone through in everything he did. His coffee fuelled long drives (covering over 750 miles in 5 days on the crazy roads is no easy task, but for Modi, it was a breeze) his humour, his teachings and knowledge truly made our experience priceless. Anyone who gets Modi as their guide is lucky beyond words. Even to the point at a stop point another guide came and greeted us and told us modi had taught him and he was so thankful to him and we should know how lucky we where and we certainly felt it! So thank you Modi, from the bottom of our hearts. Please come and visit Essex one day and we’ll look after you and your family! Remember you have to listen to Coldplay too! We hope to see you in the near future. Second - I want to give a huge shout out and recommendation to savannah explorers, from the moment we made contact to arriving in Arusha, they looked after us so well. Communication was top notch and the booking process was super easy. They gave us lots of helpful hints down to what to pack and wear and also local customs. Next the safari experience. We were picked up by Modi at our hotel in Arusha. He was warm, kind and explained how the next 5 days would go. Our hotel staff said that the car we had was absolute luxury which made us feel very special! We set off to Tarangire national park and along the way Modi taught us about the Masai tribe and some local Swahili words. He was so so knowledgable and we really felt we’d hit jackpot with Modi as our guide. The park itself was out of this world, we saw large herds of elephant, giraffe, lion, zebra and tonnes of beautiful trees and flowers. Modi taught us so much about them all I could write a book! Modi then drove us to our first accomodation the Ngorongoro farm house - wow that was beautiful (I will write them a seperate review but it was truly sensational) After a good nights rest we started our 2 day tour of the Serengeti and wow it did not disappoint, we knew we might not see all of the big 5 on our trip because nature is nature but with Modi as our driver and his incredible mental knowledge of the Serengeti we were treated to a whole lot of incredible wildlife. We saw so many lions, cheetah, heards of wilder beast and zebra (the last of the migration) & a leopard!!! Modi’s driving was incredibly safe, but also he kept to his time incredibly well whilst allowing us to soak up all the animal and nature experiences along the way. Second and third nights were at the brand new Orangi collection hotel in the Serengeti, the views and staff where phenomenal - again I will write a seperate review for them! Our fourth night was at Serena lodge on the Ngorongoro crater rim, wow the views into the crater took our breath away and the staffs kindness and hospitality second to none! (Review incoming for these guys too!) On our last day of safari we headed to the Ngorongoro crater ( or should we saw caldera as Modi taught us! ) we saw plenty more lion, hippos, flamingos and plenty more Zebra and wilderbeast. We think we may have spotted a rhino but it was very far away and as Modi said it just means we have to come back to search again! We cannot praise the company and Modi especially enough for making our honeymoon absolutely unforgettable and memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We recently finished a 10-day luxury safari with Savannah Explorers, and it exceeded our every expectation. Our guide, Ibra, was excellent. His knowledge of birds, animals, the environment, and even plants was incredible. I once asked him about a plant we saw on the road, and he not only gave me its scientific name but followed with encyclopedia-level detail! In addition to being very knowledgeable, Ibra made our comfort a priority. He frequently asked if we had everything we needed, and he showed flexibility with our schedule as we struggled with jet lag. The wildlife we saw was amazing, and each day we saw something new. We literally saw elephants that were 3 feet from our jeep! It wasn’t just Ibra who paid attention to make sure we had a great trip. Sultan from the main office often checked in, ensuring we had everything we needed. When we decided we wanted to go hot air ballooning, it was seamlessly added to our itinerary. Most importantly, they set us up with the absolute best balloon operator. It made a birthday extra special and created memories that will last a lifetime. If you’re going on safari, Savannah Explorers is the company to choose, and I strongly suggest you ask for Ibra as your guide. He’s just the best!

I spent 3 days in a tent camp close to the Nyerere Camp; in the first day we had a boat safari, the second day a traditional safari and early in the morning of the first day a walking safari (this last one not very interesting); it was a wonderful experince because both the local guide anf the van driver were very professional. Then we moved to Amani Resort were he stayd 3 days. Wonderful place to enjoy the sea and the beach. In my opinion Savannah Explorers organised our holyday in a fantastic way.
