Första stoppet på din halvdagstur i Taipei är det världsberömda National Palace Museum, som också är ett av världens största museer. Med en samling på nästan 700 000 antika Kinesiska artefakter och konstverk visar museet upp 8 000 år av Kinesisk konsthistoria som sträcker sig över flera dynastier. Två av de mest kända konstverken som visas är ”Jadeitkålen” och ”Köttformade stenen”, som är måsten i National Palace Museum.
Nästa stopp är Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, ett imponerande monument till minne av Republiken Kinas framlidne president Chang Kai-shek. För att nå den stora hallen måste du klättra uppför 89 trappsteg, som representerar Chang Kai-Sheks ålder när han dog. Här sker vaktombytet varje timme från klockan 09:00 i stora salen.
Förutom minnesmärkets majestätiska huvudsal är den utsökta Kinesiska trädgården runt byggnaden och det stora torget också värda ett besök. Om du kommer hit tidigt på morgonen kan du se en del människor träna Qigong där.
Vår tur fortsätter med ett besök på Longshan Temple, där lokalbefolkningen ber om lycka eller finner inre frid. Här får du lära dig om Taiwans religiösa tro och praxis. Templet byggdes 1738 och tillägnades Guanyin (barmhärtighetens gudinna). Templet skadades allvarligt under Taipei Air Raid, men statyn av Guanyin överlevde räden. Förutom barmhärtighetens gudinna ägnar templet Yue Lao (äktenskapsmäklarguden), Wenchang Dijun (litteraturens gud), Songzi Niangniang (jungfrun som kommer med barn) och många fler. Du kan be för dig själv och din familj, och även försöka be gudarna om råd genom att kasta spådomsblock.

I took this tour on an extended layover in Taipei as I wanted to make the most of my time and see the city. This half day tour was perfect and included three cultural stops. The National Palace Museum is huge and houses so many artifacts that it would be hard to see them all. Our tour guide was able to show us the most valuable and important pieces and provide history and stories behind them. We were able to see the changing of the guard at Memorial Hall and visit the beautiful Longshan Temple. James our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and kept us on time. This tour is great for anyone pressed for time that wants a taste of Taipei.

Everything was perfect. Tour guide was very nice. I very recommended this tour.
James was fantastic as a tour guide. We had a private tour with interesting background on the items in all of the places. I only had a few hours to sight see and this hits many of the major landmarks. You won’t regret going on this tour!
