Upptäck Cuencas kök och historia på en liten gruppvandring. Förutom att mätta din aptit och kulturella kuriosa, är denna turné ett bra sätt att orientera dig i stadens layout. Kulinariska höjdpunkter inkluderar Sanduche de pernil, tamales, empanadas och traditionella drycker som morocho och kokosjuice. Vi går runt det centrala torget och observerar de viktigaste historiska byggnaderna i staden som: Nya och gamla katedralen, La Gobernacion, borgmästarskapet, etc.
På denna plats har du möjlighet att njuta av ett utsökt Cuenca-snack som heter Sanduche de pernil, tillsammans med dess chilisås med trädtomat och en uppfriskande kokosnötsjuicedrink.
Sedan kommer vi att gå genom Cuencas kullerstensgator, besöka några av de traditionella stadsdelarna som Barrio de Todos Santos eller även kallad bagarkvarteret, sedan kommer vi att ansluta till Barranco del Rio Tomebamba innan vi når nästa matstånd.
Framför Broken Bridge, en ikonisk plats i staden, hittar vi ett litet matstånd med många års service där du kan smaka på de bästa empandas och dricka den berömda "morocho" tillagad med majs.
Efter att ha vandrat längs flodens strand och observerat, en del av stadens ravin och de arkeologiska lämningarna av Pumapungo, kommer vi fram till en av de mest kända gatorna i staden Cuenca där många hus i kolonialstil finns bevarade, som fungerar som små restauranger med typisk mat, speciellt tortillas, tamles, empanadas, etc. Kom ihåg att med dessa mellanmål blir din middag mer än komplett
I den sista delen av vår turné kommer vi tillbaka nära startpunkten för turnén för att avsluta natten med en utsökt cocktail på en av de bästa restaurangerna i staden Cuenca.

This is the perfect trip if you want to get introduced to Cuenca by a local. I got multiple snacks and was totally impressed with Edson and his professionalism. It is a great tour around Centro Historico!

What a fun tour. Delicious food, friendly and knowledgeable guide. The pace was perfect and we had the opportunity to stop at little shops as we went. I would do the same tour again!

FINALLY. Cuenca has an authentic French restaurant. Others, at best, are copies of French cooking that does not evoke and memories of traditional France. They merely use French names. They are not necessarily bad, but certainly not French. I am French from Quebec and, like all of us, a foodie. I have spend many years in France The place is newly opened, owned and operated by a handsome Frenchman from Orléans (where Joan of Arc came from). It is decorated in a style that is indistinguishable from 1000s of France restaurants, and the view from the windows on El Centro (the old city) compliments that. I began with a foie gras...nicely prepared and served with garnishes. (a first for Cuenca or Ecuador for that matter). Very pleased. I continued with an exceptional (and large) plate of grilled octopus ersillade, a favorite of mine. Best I have had here in 15 years. I finished with a Tarte Tatin (the legendary French dessert) and expresso allongé. My companion had a Magret of Duck, sliced and pretty and ended with profiterolles I am going back tomorrow with my wife. I shall take photos.

Edison was very accommodating by changing the day because it was raining heavily at our appointed time. However, he arrived on time, agreed on a different time, kindly dropped us off at a different destination, & met us the following day. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of and customs of Cuenca and Ecuador, of the city, and the best places to procure Cuenca foods. He was full of information about all the questions we had. It was a joy to spend time with him.

My husband, daughter and I did an evening tour with Cris and had such a great time. We got to learn a lot about Cuenca’s history and culture alongside the delicious food. We liked that we got to choose the amount of food we’d get, so we didn’t feel overloaded at the end. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about Cuenca.
