Francios was superb. She was knowledgeable and knew the history of her city. She was courteous and helpful and kind to me when I fell. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I highly recommend her for future tours.
I recommend no one book this tour! My husband paid $400 for this private 3-hour tour of Strasbourg (through Viator), and not was it only the worst tour we’ve ever been on (and we’ve gone on many) — it was so bad, we cut it short to save ourselves the torture (which we’ve never done before). And the tour guide told Viator we never showed up, so we couldn’t dispute the cost?! First, our tour guide was 15 minutes late. We were trying to figure out how to call him or contact him through the parent company, but to no avail. We almost left — but finally someone showed up. It was NOT the Yves (tour guide who had been previously BEEN listed for this. My guess is the original tour guide decided to do a bigger instead (for more tips) — and sent this poor guy to fill in for him on a tour he didn’t want to do. The guide was very nice, and I feel bad, because it’s not his fault he was thrown into this — but he was not prepared. He barely spoke English, barely knew any history, barely spoke to us, kept checking his phone, and seemed uncomfortable with the whole thing. We walked/stood in silence 95% of the time while he didn’t know what to say. He didn’t really understand our questions, nor know the answers. My husband was telling more about history to him than the other way around. After an hour of this, as we stood on the Bridge of Torture — which we learned more about from the plaque next to it than our guide — lest we throw ourselves off the bridge like in times of old, we I decided to end our torture early for both our guide and us and cut the tour short. I’d rather use Wikipedia to look things up as we walk. It’ll be more informative.
Yves had a wonderful sense of humor and great insight into what makes Strasbourg unique. My family enjoyed exploring the city with him and learning about the history and culture of Alsace. Our stay in this wonderful city was richer for having him share his knowledge with us.
Cozy city. From trenzinho da to know the tourist sights of the center, quiet and beautiful! Easy walking in the tram and trains
It was nothing less than one of those perfect afternoons when I went on a personal walking tour with Martine. It was absolutely great! After a short visit to the touristy parts of Strasbourg(like the only images that show up in Google, ie. La Petite France), we went to European Parliament, Parc de l’Orangerie and looked at Storks and in their nests, and then concluded the tour at the Cathedral. Martine was very knowledgeable and engaging and I had such a good time with her. Highly recommended if you prefer exploring Strasbourg on foot with a very small group or by going solo. I will book this tour again with my family in tow.
Good overview of the city. Guide had good knowledge of history and the town. Unfortunately we did not go inside the cathedral but had a good description of its history outside.
The tour guide lacked excitement and energy, and the tour itself was not very exciting, and the Cathedral was closed which was for us the main reason for visiting Strasbourg. In addition, the tour was over-priced. For the price, we expected better.
Dear Brian, sorry for this dispointment concerning the tour guide work. We will let him know your comment. Concerning the cathedral, it is independent of our will, and as it is a national and religious monument, it is of course not guaranteed to be open as you can imagine.
This was a wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable, engaging guide. I learned a lot about the history and culture of Strasbourg and Alsace. I would highly recommend this tour!
Guide gave some great information on the history of Strasbourg. This was a wonderful way to see the the old district of the city and get to know what all Strasbourg has to offer!
Dear Lauren, Thank you for your feedback! We are glad that all of you enjoyed this tour in the Alsace capital city! Regards Joris
