På alla våra turer guidas du personligen av Sam Ang (Sam), en lokal Khmer och licensierad engelsktalande guide. Sam kommer att fördjupa dig i en rik kulturresa fylld med hans passion, vänskap, kunskap och berättelser om Kambodja. En omfattande resplan tillhandahålls, och du kommer att resa över hela staden till viktiga platser, inklusive det kungliga slottet och Wat Phnom Pagoda. Dessutom ingår djupgående besök på de berömda historiska platserna Folkmordsmuseet (S21) och Killing Fields. Det kungliga palatset, som ligger vid floden, är den kambodjanska kungen och hans familjs officiella residens. Här kommer du att besöka en rad utsmyckade och färgglada byggnader med gyllene tak och höga spiror, som är ett utmärkt exempel på klassisk Khmer-arkitektur. Vår turné inkluderar Throne Hall, Napoleon III Pavilion och Silver Pagoda med dess silverkakelgolv och fantastiska artefakter. Ett besök i palatset ger en intressant inblick i Kambodjas kungliga förflutna och rikedomen av Khmer-konstnär och hantverk.
Det imponerande självständighetsmonumentet i Angkor-stil byggdes 1958 för att fira Kambodjas självständighet 1953 från sitt koloniala förflutna under Frankrikes styrelse. Beläget i en stor rondell, i korsningen mellan två stora boulevarder, är det i hjärtat av staden. Monumentet är ett anmärkningsvärt landmärke, referenspunkt och är centrum för aktivitet under många nationella firanden.
Tuol Sleng, är ett museum som registrerar det kambodjanska folkmordet som begicks av Röda Khmerernas regim från 1975 till 1979. Museet är platsen för en före detta gymnasieskola som användes som säkerhetsfängelse 21 (S21) av Röda Khmererna. Ett besök på detta museum, och de nära associerade Killing Fields, är avgörande för att få förståelse för de hjärtskärande och tragiska händelserna som har format dagens kambodjanska samhälle. Toul Sleng var en plats för internering, förhör och tortyr, och dess bevarande upprätthåller bevis för den senaste och tragiska perioden i Kambodjas historia. Att besöka museet tjänar till att uppmuntra besökare från hela världen att främja fred.
Killing Fields är platser runt om i Kambodja där totalt cirka 1,3 miljoner människor dödades och begravdes av den dåvarande regeringen under ledning av Röda Khmererna och premiärminister Pol Pot. Dessa fruktansvärda brott mot mänskligheten är kända som det kambodjanska folkmordet. Mest känd av dessa är Choeung Ek, en före detta fruktträdgård cirka 15 km från Phnom Penh, och nu bevarad som ett museum för besökare att veta och förstå vad som hände under den tragiska tiden. Choeung Ek var nära knuten till Tuol Sleng fånglägret.
Central Market (Phsar Thmei) är en framstående art déco-byggnad i form av ett kors med en spektakulär central kupol. Korsets fyra vingar är fyllda med stånd som säljer guld- och silversmycken, antika mynt, falska klockor och souvenirer. Det finns järnhandelsstånd, en våtmarknad, kläder och hushållsartiklar, matställen ... ett stort utbud av produkter till salu. Detta är ett populärt ställe för turister att leta efter, fynda eller köpa presenter och minnen att ta med hem.
Wat Phnom är ett buddhistiskt tempel byggt på en trädtäckt, konstgjord kulle på norra sidan av staden. Detta är ett historiskt och kulturellt landmärke och en plats för lugn i den livliga staden. Huvudstupan ligger spektakulärt på toppen av kullen och befäster askan från kung Ponhea Yat som 1434 anlände och byggde staden Phnom Penh. Wat Phnom har blivit en central attraktion i staden för både khmeriska och utländska besökare och är ett "måste besöka" när man är i Phnom Penh.

Sam was an excellent guide for our visit to the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center and S-21 prison in Phnom Penh. His English was clear and he was extremely knowledgeable, helping us understand the history of Cambodia in a meaningful way. Overall a great experience. highly recommend Mr Sam Ang.

I booked a private tour, and everything was effortless. Sam and the driver were early/on time, and all costs were clearly stated up front. I had good communication beforehand via WhatsApp, and everything on the tour could be customized (e.g., due to hot temperatures, I asked to skip a site and go someplace else instead). Honestly, though, what made the tour the most special was chatting with Sam, who worked as a learning specialist prior to becoming a tour guide and is obviously from Cambodia. I can go and see sites myself, read books by myself, etc., but booking tours allows for interactions and learning I would not otherwise have. I highly recommend - and fun fact: as a parent of two, Sam knows just about every possible kid-oriented place/activity, including playgrounds by feature and ranking, around!

Had an amazing tour. Sam was very knowledgable and I learnt so much about the history of Cambodia. Visiting the killing fields and the prison, and learning about the historically recent genocide carried out by the Khmer Rouge is a very emotional part of the tour. However, I think it’s something we all should learn about. It’s very humbling. Also, I urge everybody to purchase a book or 2 from the people that are selling them at the killing fields and the prison. Still alive, and sitting in the very spot where they endured so much pain, so they can sell their story and perhaps make a few dollars in the process. I was on my own with Sam and a driver. Sam knew exactly what time to be where, and how to navigate the whole experience while avoiding all the crowds. I 100% recommend this tour. Tku Sam for an amazing day.

It was a wonderful day. There was a lot to cover but Sam was the perfect guide who made the day flow comfortably. The day was a mixture of wonderful sights and interesting history around the Palace and Temples, alongside the challenging and horrific story of the 1970's. Sam dealt with everything in a most appropriate way and provided us with a memorable day, assisted by his very professional driver Michael. The full day Phnom Penh City Tour was a great experience. Our guide Sam was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We had a great experience during the tour and especially visiting the Palace and Genocide Museum and Centre. I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting the city for a day as it covers all the major sites with Sam providing his knowledgeable perspective of the city. His assistant Michael was great too, and both are great.

We had a great full day city tour of Phnom Penh. Our Guide Sam Ang was very knowledgeable, informative and courteous.
