Galveston har sett ett skrämmande antal plötsliga dödsfall. Ett ogudlöst antal av öarna gick dyrt bort, väl avfärdade aldrig. Deras humör lurar i skuggor, gränder, trappuppgångar och stjälkar STRANDEN varje dag! De historiska 1800-talsbyggnaderna på STRANDEN har blivit spökreservat. Och spöken inuti dör bara för att träffa dig. Följ med på vår 90 minuters vandring när vi utforskar de fascinerande paranormala händelserna på strängen, den ursprungliga skräckgatan. Orkaner, krig, eld och epidemier! Piraten Jean Lafitte förvandlade till och med ön till ett tjuvar. Galveston har fler spöken än någon annan stad i USA. När man går på natten flyter genomskinliga siffror vid fönstren. Skuggor kommer plötsligt att dyka upp och föremål rör sig på egen hand när vi kramar närmare varandra för är ömsesidigt skydd. Vi vet aldrig vad som väntar på oss runt hörnen. Akta dig och vara rädd! Galveston är ju ingenting annat än "en kyrkogård med en strand ansluten."

På sin höjd såg denna järnvägsstation över 40 000 människor om dagen på väg till Galvestons barer, kasinon och bordeller. En ingenjör med namnet William Watson skulle underhålla de förbipasserande folkmassorna genom att göra handstativ på djurskyddet på motorerna. En olycklig dag SLIPPED och blev han halshuggen omedelbart. En derbyhatt satt fortfarande säkert på huvudet och de hittade A MILE AWAY!
SÅ många värdighetsmän, soldater, politiker och till och med presidenter har checkat in ... MEN NÅGON KONTROLLERAR ALDRIG UT. Gråtande skrik hörs på trappan och i hallarna. En inbördeskrigssoldat marsjerar upp och ner i lobbyn framför alla för att se. En liten pojke leker på hotellet som ryktas vara ett spöke av ett barn som springer över utanför hotellet. Ett bra spöke kommer till och med att packa upp för dig!
Charles F. Coghlan, en berömd brittisk skådespelare seglade till Galveston för att gå in på scenen i The Grand Opera House. Men stackars Charles dog innan gardinen någonsin lyfts upp. Vad ska man göra med den här utmärkta besökarens kropp? Medan de väntade på svaret DE STORA STORMEN rivde ön och bar Charles kista ut till havet. Det flöt från Galveston till Prince Albert Sound innan det äntligen gick till land ... OM EN MILE FRÅN VAR CHARLES GÅR ATT ÅTERA!

Not sure if I believe all the stories told, but we had a great tour guide (Thomas). The tour was also not too taxing for older folks; plenty of stops where you could take a seat for a few minutes.

Thomas was an excellent guide. His presentation was engaging with so much detail about Galveston’s history and development as a city in the 1800’s. Their port was a critical part of their businesses and for a while Galveston was the capital of Texas. But when the 1900 storm hit Galveston, it devastated the city and changed its future. The worst natural disaster ever in the U.S. Thomas told us about the long recovery of Galveston and that ghosts are part of their city. One fascinating fact after another throughout the tour! I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of history, thomas was very knowledgeable. Interesting ghost stories. He even took more time with us. He pointed out various buildings and definitely captured your attention.

Thomas led a great tour! He gave great bits of history while telling us stories of some of the more notable spirits all while being fun and telling jokes. The tour was a great way to get to know the island a little better on our first night.

Took my daughter and a group of her friends on this tour for her 18th birthday. Thomas was very informative and kept everyone interested and entertained throughout the tour, which is not an easy thing to do with teenagers. Even though we are locals we learned lots of things about the island we never knew. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a fun evening Thomas!
