Our guide was fantastic! She was very informative and funny! She told us that she herself was a skeptic until she experienced some things on her own and during her tours. We also had an experience that we can't explain!
Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. She told stories, and even handed out EMF readers to some of us, making the experience even better.
Very cool and eerie experience! Our guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable, filled with stories, and kept everyone engaged throughout the entire tour!
The Jennie Wade tour was better than expected. George the tour guide was very good and entertaining. His interaction with the adults and children was exceptional.
The tour was so great. George was an amazing tour guide. Whole family (including 13 & 14 year old) loved it!
I do many ghost tours in many towns. Gettysburg is my hometown and this is my 3rd or 4th one locally. We took our exchange student. This is the first of any tour that I’ve been on that has gone INSIDE a property and covered the history of the house. Most of the tours I’ve done focused on a bunch of homes outdoors. Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during the battle of Gettysburg. This occurred while she was baking bread for her mother, nephews, some soldiers, and her sister who was bedridden after child birth. A sniper’s stray bullet was shot into the house and they even have the original floor board on display, possibly marked with her blood. Our tour guide Maria was knowledgeable and our group was filled beyond capacity. I’ve done the Jennie Wade tour during the day, and there was some overlap obviously, but it was still enjoyable. Maria pointed out some movement of the curtains and other items that were clearly not anywhere near an air vent. Ghosts and spirits, maybe? My daughter asked about the cards on the table and Maria said they sometimes move as well. If you’re into the spooky aspect, this is a fun tour! I enjoy when the guide dresses in period correct clothing, as it sets the tone for the tour. Some of the guides here do this, but Maria did not. Still it was enjoyable. I recommend this tour! It was an in-depth tour covering Jennie Wade’s perspective of the battle as opposed to a broad tour touching lightly upon history of many homes/ sites in Gettysburg.
Great experience for price, family friendly
Our guide, Rick, was great! It was a lot of fun!
Standing, walking and steps involved. Interesting. Learned more about Jennie Wade and her family. Told stories of ghosts people have seen.
I went with my adult granddaughter and 10 year old great grandson. I have a bad knee and wasn't sure if it would be too much walking for me but it was pretty easy. There is a short walk from ticket office , then steps up and down when you get into house. Ann was our tour guide and shared her family has lived in Gettysburg for generations so she had first hand stories handed down from relatives who experienced the battle and events first hand ! We had finished touring the upstairs and gathered by the door when Ann got quiet and looked up the steps and called "hello"....she looked around and said "did anyone else hear footsteps....?" Several people nodded and said yes ......I don't know if it was just floor creaking but it only happened once. We then went to the basement.Ann continued to talk about what the couple of days were like for the family as they hid down there. She also talked about some things that had happened to other tour guides not big crazy woowoo stuff just subtle things that give you pause. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not some things can't be explained. There was a definite energy as we walked through the house. The true story of Jennie Wade is sad and emotional especially with all the details Ann was able to share about not only Jennie and her whole family but the townspeople of Gettysburg at that time. Highly recommend Ann and this tour.
