Den moriska borgen i Sintra är en medeltida fästning som byggdes på 800-900-talet under den muslimska ockupationen av Iberiska halvön. Här bor du högt uppe på Sintras kullar och har fantastisk panoramautsikt över staden, Atlantkusten och de frodiga skogarna i Serra DE Sintra. Dess gamla stenmurar, torn och slingrande stigar berättar historien om århundraden av erövringar och kulturella influenser, vilket gör det till ett av Sintras mest atmosfäriska landmärken.
I hjärtat av Sintra kan du utforska den charmiga byn, beundra Nationalpalatset eller ta en naturskön promenad till den förtrollande Quinta da Regaleira. Alternativt kan du fördjupa dig i magin i denna medeltida stad – promenera genom dess smala gator, insupa den lokala atmosfären och njuta av en kaffe i kombination med den berömda "Travesseiro" eller "Queijada" två måste-prova traditionella bakverk.
Colares vin är ett av Portugals mest unika och sällsynta viner, producerat i sandjordar nära Sintra. Ramisco-druvan, som odlas på oympade vinstockar, ger vinet en distinkt karaktär – elegant, garvat och byggt för att åldras. Som en av de äldsta avgränsade vinregionerna i Portugal. Det är en sann dold pärla för vinälskare.
Santuário DA Peninha är en liten helgedom från 1600-talet som ligger på en dramatisk granittopp i naturparken Sintra-Cascais. My mom and I last minute booked this trip with Rodrigo and it was one of the best excursions we’ve ever done! Rodrigo was fabulous, we learned so much about the history of Portugal and all the sites we stopped at. The day just flew by. We didn’t know much about the palace or castle and walked away with a plethora of knowlege and amazing photos! My mom just turned 80 and he was so attentive to making sure she didn’t trip on all the cobblestones and such. He was just the best guide ever! I highly recommend this tour!!

Rodrigo, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge about the present day and history of places we visited. His story telling method made what could have been dry facts into an entertaining narrative. The stops on this tour were so interesting and impressive. The Sintra area, near Lisbon, is a beautifully forested area that was a favorite of earlier Portuguese nobility. Our tour was done in excellent English, but he is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. All entrance tickets were included, which saved us so much time waiting in lines. Prompt pick up at our hotel was appreciated; and his insider tips on things to see, and places to eat were valuable too. This was one of the very best guided tours we’ve ever been on; and we’ve had lots of tours all around the globe.

Rodrigo provided an absolutely wonderful tour of Pena Palace, the Moorish castle, and insightful commentary about both, together with generous stopovers in Sintra and Cascais. The stopovers were essentially guided as well through his advice and tips. We also made a stop at the most breathtaking viewpoint imaginable. We cannot recommend Rodrigo highly enough! A truly fabulous day!

Our tour guide Rodrigo went at our pace and took great care of us. He also let me know about last minute entry tickets to the palace which was amazing! If you’re into lots of walking and outdoors I recommend this tour. Just make sure to layer up as it can get very foggy and cold with the wind chill.

I had booked other tours on this app, what i did not realize are all the tours are independently run. And we lucked out with selecting Rodrigo , his tour group was 5 ppl and we loved the small tour as it felt like a private tour. Our original tour cancelled and we found Rodriguez a week before we were heading to Lisbon , and it turned out to be a blessing. We also appreciated that he was very responsive on the app when we had questions. Highlights Pena Pslace was the first tour and we did not have to wait, the next tour was the moor castle with amazing views. He had great knowledge of history of portugal. We loved he gave us time to explore Sintra , and gave us recommendations for the pastry shops. Next was viewpoint of view of the portugal coastline, and lunch at Cascais. Overall highly recommend this tour, as you will find lots of very similar tours. And if you have choice between this tour and another tour i recommend this tour.

From the moment Roderigo picked us we knew we booked the best tour! He was truly amazing, so knowledgeable has the sweet smile and truly enjoys what he does and gets excited for you! The tour itself 5/5 stars, worth the amount for family of four! We learned so much and we had perfect amount of time in each area! Roderigo gave us some great recommendations as well to have a pastry, eat some local food or grab a drink! We highly recommend booking with him! If we come back we will definitely do another tour with him, our kids loved him as well and he was patient.

Rodrigo was excellent. We were engaged & entertained by his insight, humour and depth of knowledge. Learning more of Portugal's history has sparked our interest to continue learning about this lovely country. The Sintra castles, their expansive vistas and lush forested grounds, were amazing. The tour was a full day of fun with exploring Pena and Moors castles along with exploring Sintra and Caisas. Stops are made for snacks and lunch. There is alot of walking involved, proper walking shoes needed. It is a great tour for history lovers and families with kids.
