Melakasundets kulturmuseum erbjuder en insiktsfull resa in i de rika kulturella utbyten som formade Melakasundet, där handelsmän, upptäcktsresande och bosättare från hela Asien och bortom möttes i århundraden. Museet belyser regionens livliga sjöfartshistoria och blandningen av malajiska, Kinesiska, indiska, arabiska och europeiska influenser som bidrog till Melakas unika arv. Heeren Street, även känd som Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, är en av Melakas mest eleganta arvsgator, kantad av vackert bevarade Peranakan radhus. Som en del av vandringsturen gör vi ett kulturellt stopp här för att lära oss om Baba Nyonyas arv – och utforska den unika blandningen av Kinesiska och malajiska traditioner som formade Peranakankulturen, från deras arkitektur och livsstil till deras rika seder och hantverk.
Ingen resa till Melaka är komplett utan att smaka dess mest ikoniska maträtt – hainanesiska kycklingrisbollar. Till skillnad från det vanliga kycklingriset rullas här det doftande riset för hand till lagom stora bollar och serveras med mjuk pocherad kyckling, chilisås och sojadressing. Denna lokala specialitet är en upplevelse som verkligen representerar Melakas unika matkultur.
Vid detta stopp kan vi njuta av en sötsak som lokalbefolkningen älskar – traditionell cendol toppad med rik gula Melakasirap. För att komplettera det kommer vi också att prova en mängd färgglada Nyonya kuih, lagom stora Peranakan delikatesser gjorda med kokosmjölk, pandan och glutinöst ris, som erbjuder en sann smak av Melakas arv desserter. Avsluta med en söt ton.

Mimi was our food and culture tour guide and she was excellent! Mimi was very engaging and knowledgeable, she kept the kids' attention throughout the whole tour. We had a great time exploring Melaka old town and eating our way through all the local delicacies. She brought us to hidden alleyways and beautiful traditional peranakan houses which we would not have known if we had not join the tour. Love the craft activity that we could bring home as souvenir. Highly recommend!
