Det är en rundtur som kombinerar trevlig historisk information om Gamla stan på Korfu som har varit ett världsarv sedan 2007 och samtidigt kommer de att ha möjlighet att gå in i några små butiker som bara är kända av lokalbefolkningen för att smaka på lokala produkter och träffa och prata med ägarna till dessa butiker.

Vår ackrediterade guide möter dig framför den gamla fästningen vid statyn av Schulemburg och efter att hon ger dig lite information utifrån om monumentet fortsätter du din tur i det historiska centret.
Det centrala torget i Spianada är det viktigaste monumentet i staden. Namnet kommer från det venetianska ordet för ett "öppet platt område" och det sägs att det är det största torget på Balkan. Liston som är en del av torget rymmer några av de finaste kaféerna och restaurangerna på Korfu. Fransmännen var de som gjorde Spianada till ett offentligt torg. Före artonhundratalet brukade det vara en stor tom tomt som användes för defensiva ändamål. Cricketmatcher spelas på Esplanaden, den enda platsen i Grekland där sporten utövas.
Palatset Saint Michael och Saint George ligger på den norra delen av Korfus stads historiska torg. Det är den största och mest betydelsefulla byggnaden under den engelska härskarperioden, som började 1814 och slutade 1864 när Joniska öarna återförenades med resten av Grekland. De byggdes på begäran av den brittiske Lord High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Maitland, för att bli hans egen lyxiga bostad och för att inrymma högkommissariens administrativa högkvarter. Idag rymmer det Korfus museum för asiatisk konst, det enda i sitt slag i Grekland, enbart tillägnat konsten och antikviteterna i Fjärran Östern och Indien. Det grundades 1928 och dess samling består för närvarande av cirka 15 000 verk av asiatisk konst och den åtnjuter ett världsomspännande erkännande, med sällsynta föremål från dess samlingar som presenteras på internationella utställningar.
Under vår rundtur kommer vi också att besöka kyrkan Saint Spyridon, öns skyddshelgon och en mirakelarbetare.
När vi går bland de smala gatorna passerar vi Rådhustorget på Korfu, en gång det exklusiva venetianska kvarteret med operahuset och villorna runt omkring. Vi kommer att beundra rådhusbyggnaden som först användes som en klubb för adelsmännen och senare 1720 var byggnaden värd för Noble Theatre of Saint Giacomo of Corfu. Slutligen, 1903, förvandlades det till ett rådhus.
Det judiska kvarteret, det gamla venetianska "gettot" som fortfarande kallas Evraiki på grekiska idag, sträckte sig över den sydöstra delen av staden, nära de venetianska befästningarna. Det var kors och tvärs av gränder kantade av bleka, flervåningshus, som i Venedig. Ghettot förlorade sin urbana enhet på grund av bombardement under andra världskriget.

We’ve enjoyed some excellent small group food and cultural walking tours across Europe, but the combination of a brilliant guide (Nausica) - who was both highly informative and humorous - and the generous, varied and delicious food we enjoyed, made this the best tour we have joined. We’d have rated above 5 if we could. Next time we’re back in Corfu we’ll be back for another tour.
Alice was probably, no, she IS the BEST, tour guide ever! She has soooo much personality that the whole tour comes alive. Great information, great food stops, and always interesting. Words are not enough to describe how enjoyable this experience became. At each stop we were greeted by wonderful food presentations and happy cooks/owners. The only suggestion (this is minor) would be to decrease the number of “sweet” treats. Alice also provided a deep knowledge and understanding of Corfu.

Make sure you come hungry! This was a fantastic experience - our guide Alice was lovely and very informative it was a great way to get to know the city, try some delicious local food and meet fellow travellers. Electrabel was a welcoming, animated and thoughtful guide who gave us a marvellous cultural tour of Corfu old town. The tour punctuated with delightful and delicious food and drink stops sampling authentic Corfiot treats. It was the perfect blend of culture and food, with the experience brought to life by Elektra's amazing knowledge of Corfu, past and present. I was amazed that our tour even included a 2 course dinner at a charming bistro that we would never have found on our own. I could not recommend Electrabel and this tour more highly. Book it fast! You won't regret it!

Alice gave us an A-MAY-ZING food tour through old town Corfu, including cultural highlghts. Definitely get this tour with Alice- she's brilliant, warm, and a true foodie. Stops included huge platters of breakfast pastries, a meat and fruit platter, Kumquat and liquor tastings, a visit to an exceptional out of the way Michelin-noted spice shop and ended with a delicious family style lunch on an outdoor patio. Wow!! We had the most amazing time, and just loved Alice!

Can’t rate this experience highly enough. Alice was the ultimate host. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable and just a lovely person. She really elevated the experience for all of us. She gave great local historical insights and led us through some beautiful areas starting with the gardens and onto quaint alley ways. We visited some amazing local food spots along the way, and the food at each was delicious and NO ONE left hungry. Being on a cruise ship we only had one day in Corfu and we are so glad we spent it on this tour. Thanks again Alice !
