Well worth the money for a highlight tour with my adult son. We didn’t have a lot of time in the city, but got a good taste of the Art Institute with Maeve as our guide. We went Sunday morning- peak busyness!- but Maeve knew her way around and maximized our time with a semi-chronological trip through time to help us see many of the more renowned pieces on display. (I’d even suggest this tour to ‘case the joint’ if a visitor was planning either a full day, or a two-day, visit to the art institute to get familiar with the complex museum layout.) I also commend tourguide Maeve for keeping our group of ten gently together and on schedule, even though we had a pair with a wheelchair that needed to take all the elevator options between floors. She also was respectful of other museum visitors’ time and space in crowded galleries by tucking our group into a nook or cranny for her intro, then sending us forth to view what she’d just spoken about… instead of having us occupy prime space in front of a popular piece while she introduced it. Overall: good value, good guide, good intro and whirlwind tour of this amazing museum. Highly recommended!
Joel was fantastic - super personable and knowledgeable! 100% would recommend. Learned a lot and was very fun.

Scout was an amazing guide at the Art Institute of Chicago! She gave us a fun, engaging crash course in art history—from the Baroque period to modern art—while hitting all the museum highlights. She was enthusiastic, entertaining, and made the art come alive. Even our preteens and teens were interested the entire time (which says a lot!). If you’re visiting the museum, I highly recommend doing a guided tour like this.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Carissa! Keeping preteens and teens engaged throughout an art history tour — now that is truly saying something, and Scout delivered! We're thrilled to hear that her enthusiastic and entertaining crash course through everything from the Baroque period to modern art made the experience so fun and memorable for the whole family. We hope to welcome you all back again soon!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Stephanie! We're thrilled to hear that Arnold's knowledge and entertaining style made for such an amazing experience at the Art Institute. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Arnold was an excellent tour guide. He has a vast knowledge of the art that is in the museum. There were certain things I learned from him that I had never known about certain pieces of art. The art housed in the museum itself is an amazing collection. For example, they have six of the 25 pieces from Monet’s Haystacks series - the most of any museum in the world. They also have the original American Gothic painting, as well as several pieces by famous artists (Monet, Seurat, O’Keeffe, Van Gogh, for starters) that I had never seen before. We were there nearly two hours, and only saw a small fraction of what the museum has to offer. This museum is a gem, and it’s a must-see while visiting Chicago!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Georgia! We're thrilled to hear that Arnold's vast knowledge revealed things about the collection you had never known before — that is exactly the kind of discovery that makes a guided tour so rewarding. We couldn't agree more — the Art Institute is an absolute must-see while visiting Chicago. We hope to welcome you back to explore more of its treasures soon!
Incredible art! Arnold was a fantastic tour guide!

It’s nice to be able to enter the museum 30 min before general admission. Or guide was knowledgeable and appreciative, accommodating our questions and interests. A great, short, overview of the highlights of this amazing museum!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Parin! We're delighted to hear that Arnold's knowledge and accommodating approach made for such an enjoyable highlights tour. That early access before general admission really does make a world of difference — there's nothing quite like having the museum's most iconic works almost to yourself! We're incredibly proud to have Arnold on our team. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
I love the experience, I highly recommend doing it if you can. You don't need to pay for admission, it's already included. I thought the tour time was great, we got to see a lot.
